I know the bloke in that Blue MK2 Golf behind you. NigeP seems to spend all his life out there and developed that Mk2 over about a 10 year period to be quite a weapon.

And I think this must be you at the start of this video:

Later in the vid Nige is keeping a Chris Harris Peddled 911 GT3 RS pretty honest.......

Small world indeed! You wouldn't be the same Ian H that I had to give a couple of lifts to and from a Ring Rental company about 10 or 11 years ago would you? I was there in a MK2 similar coloured to Nige's but with a VR6 in it?

Yeah I know Nige from Northloop :)

So I knew there was no point holding that thing up, I figured his top speed probably wasn't that high which was confirmed by the fact that he didn't pass me when I moved right on the straight. (He was on the rev limiter as he later said)

Seriously quick, even with dodgy brakes. A bit of "stabbing" on the throttle mid corner, you seemed to fight the car a bit, but dang that thing looks super fast. Gotta love the Ring, man! :-)

Yeah, not my habit, and I did improve it a bit as the day went on but it's a difficult car to avoid this with. It has a lot of grip and you scrub speed throughout the corner so you want to roll on the power early but the throttle is super sensitive with the JHM remap. It's difficult to make progressive inputs, I would say it's too extreme even though I've gotten used to it.

It's funny watching the valet guys at hotels struggle to even drive the car away without constantly bogging and surging forward
