I also have a non-res non-valved Milltek and my car is used every day. It is probably the best money I have spent on the car (apart from the carbon clean) as it is a sound you just can't get bored of. There is a drone around 2k rpm but as previously stated, you aren't at 2k for long and I don't find it an issue.

This is the only YouTube clip of my RS4 static and revving that was done just after the Milltek was fitted - https://youtu.be/vFfkZTbbhF4
(apologies for quality it was taken on an iPhone propped up next to the car  )

I swapped from non-res to res as the drone with non-res was unacceptably loud IMHO.

BTW drone is more noticeable in an Avant than a saloon, so if you have a saloon then non-res MAY be OK provided you don't drive below 2000rpm much of the time.

I'll just leave this here...

Non-res, non-valved, fully decatted. VERY FAR on the wrong side of acceptable. But HUGE grin factor :biggrin3:

The only difference between the 2 systems is a different centre section. And you can buy these separately for not a lot of money. I had a set of each so I could swap as the mood took me. Easy enough to do on my back on the garage floor with the car jacked up. Hardest bit was getting it off the rubber hanger. Fairly liquid and brut force was the key.

I've spoken with Doug @ MRC about exhausts and he tells me that some mad people with B7 RS4's have a straight through exhaust, no cats, centre or back box, just a bliddy drain pipe. Fock me that must be mental !

I had non-res (albeit valved) on my last RS4 cab and for me it was spot on. I personally didn't have an issue with drone, you get used to it!
Part of the fun of having a cab is the extra vocal sensation you get from the monster V8 - 6th gear on the motorway, roof down, planting the accelerator = thunder = :biggrin3: :biggrin3:

Only thing I may suggest is the valved version to give you the choice of how loud you want it - loud or louder!!!!!
Mortgages, Insurance, Financial Matters.....need help....ask away
RS4.....another :-)
Previous - all sorts
