Picked this up at the weekend

Post by Stuartq » Tue Jan 12, 2016 9:21 am

Hey fellas I'm new to the forum and Audis's, but I've had a love of the B7 RS4 for a number of years and having the need for and estate, I knew what I was going to buy..
So now I'm the proud owner of a 2007 Avant from Audi Exclusive.
Only issue I have for now, are the brakes, but I'll post a new thread up on that subject.

Welcome to the fold mate

I would suggest doing a good search regarding any brake questions as I think most issues would have been covered now!!

Thanks fellas, I did a search but haven't a lot of info.
I was going to get them skimmed but changed my mind as I concluded, they need to be changed.
I've found a set of brembo's for around £600, I've also read that the Phaeton W12 and 5 Ltr diesel are the same but from the info I've read so far, they look like standard discs.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Think a few people are using the Pheaton discs although as you said. They are plain (non drilled) discs. There's a few people using other aftermarket setups but a majority are still using the standard setup. You will have to have a good read through the many many historic threads regarding the standard brakes and their characteristics. There are definitely ways in which you can optimise their performance and longevity

I'm sure AP do a direct to standard bell replacment disc.

I'm running AP's on the back (will be replacing fronts with AP's once these horrible Tarox discs wear down a bit more) and cant rate them enough!
