Does your car have Bluetooth or phone prep?

Also, bear in mind that the rns-e only searches for Bluetooth connections for the first x seconds after coming on..
To make sure its searching, take the key out of the ignition and put it back in... Then search on your phone...

Just because the RNSe has the 'phone' button doesn't mean it has the Bluetooth module - go to the phone screen when the unit is on and the messages on there will tell you whether or not it has it (can't remember exactly what they are but it should be fairly self explanatory)

+1

The phone module was a separate option to the sat nav.

The best way to be sure whether you have the phone module is to check if there is a module at address 77 using VCDS.
