Is this a sign I need a clutch?

Post by Pistolpete2543 » Tue Nov 03, 2015 6:26 pm

I need some assistance as I believe I may need to replace the clutch in the not too distant future. The clutch pedal feels fine and there is no juddering taking up drive, no slipping under power and I don't have any issues with the pedal sticking to the floor. However, it is difficult to engage first and it feels like the clutch is not fully engaging at times because I can feel the car jump forward very slightly when I select 1st.

The car is a 2006 Avant with 78k miles and appears to be the original clutch. However, I would like some expert forum opinion before such a big expense. If it does need a clutch, I will do everything at the same time so can someone help by listing all OEM part numbers for everything I will need (clutch, dual mass flywheel, slave cylinder, master cylinder, hydraulic return pipe etc). Or at least confirm a full list of everything I should change whilst doing the clutch.

Many thanks in advance

Sounds like how mine was before it got to the point where I couldn't get it in gear at all, when I got the box off it was my release bearing that had failed, managed to get everything inc labour for £1016. Clutch, pipe, slave, master, clutch and fly bolts and went for a ttv racing light weight flywheel.

I replaced the clutch on mine shortly after buying, recently thought it needed doing again but (hats off to them) Audi Stratford suggested it was an issue with the fluid not the clutch, changed it for something better in the cold and has been perfect ever since... At much lower cost
