Short answer: you have to decipher your car's option codes using this site: http://igorweb.org/equidec/Default.aspx

Longer answer: SS is Sports Suspension and is standard. SS+ is Sport Suspension Plus and is a paid for factory option. It sits slightly and lower, but that's not a great measure. The really obvious low cars are on aftermarket setups. It also handles much more sharply. If you drive both it's obvious, but again that might not help you much.

I asked Audi to upgrade mine last year and we had a pretty good discussion thread on here. My mid-thread mini review is here: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=110202&hilit=upgra ... 60#p689115

Stu pretty much says it all - SS+ was a factory option which gave the car thicker anti roll bars for better handling and the car sat a bit lower. i havent ever driven one with SS+ unfortunately so couldnt tell you from experience but all i have heard is good things for ss+
i think the car sits too high out of the box so had mine lowered using the k/w adjustable springs and it improved the handling a fair bit IMHO.
