I wouldn't be offended by somebody offering me a lower price than the one advertised. I would, however, be offended(by my own doing) at under pricing this car. The car at the dealer has no mention of any of the recalls being done and unsure if any of those issues would be covered under the dealer warranty.

I could be completely wrong though....

I paid £21250 for mine, privately at Easter. Virtually identical spec to yours but Daytona, and 10k less miles if that helps give you a range.

Thought it was a wee bit toppy at the time but it was clearly a pampered car and I felt I would have to travel a long distance to find another as good. This seems to have been borne out (although I did have to have the front suspension arms done).

I'm not sure there's that many good, clean, standard, FMDSH cars around. 'Standard' and 'FMDSH' may not be important to you individually, but it is to some buyers, including me.

Thanks John, thats really useful. When I was searching for my RS, it was important for me that the car was standard with full dealer history too. I know this isn't to everybody's liking but I guess it leaves a blank canvas for anybody wanting to upgrade themselves.

This car has been pampered and was bought, by me, from a forum member so I know the car has spent most of its life being cherished.

I know what you are saying ref FMDSH - mine up until the last one was always serviced at the main dealer but on the most recent service i decided to switch to MRC as i truly believe them to be more knowledgeable on these cars than someone at the main dealer who is used to just plugging a new car into a laptop and i wanted them to check a couple of things whilst it was there. hopefully that stamp would not hinder anything come resell for a car of this age. people who know about these motors should be more than aware who MRC are.

Pretty much same spec and mileage as what mine was, I never got around to putting it up private and took 18k on trade in. I'd say 20k private and work your way down from there.

22k is a bit too rich. Has the clutch been done?

Oh and delete that engine bay pic from your advert! The rest of the car looks immaculate, however the engine bay is filthy! No pic is better than a filthy pic in that department

As far as I'm aware it's still on the original clutch with nothing to indicate it might need replacing - no grinding or feeling of it not being in gear. The changes are short and tight as you'd expect with this gearbox.

I appreciate that 22k might be on the higher side but, as stated, I am open to sensible discussions.

Pricing it at 22 when you might accept more like (say) 20 might put people who have a 20k budget off of viewing it. They will never think they'll knock you down 2k. Which is exactly what HYFR mentions above.

79,500 miles on the original clutch, buyers have to factor in a 2k bill in the near future, its one of those jobs like front discs, oil cooler pipes, aux rads and DRC that any knowledgeable (aka forum) buyer is going to ask

Amazing service history btw - extremely rare to see one that has been serviced every 10k at Audi - most people run on variable - 20k between services makes me cringe! Yours has every single box ticked bar the clutch - quite possibly because its a minter and has been treated with care its whole life!

I'm not saying I'd drop 2k and accept 20 but having some margin for movement is better than having nothing at all. If I priced at 20k then there would be no movement on the price(and let's be honest, everybody looks at the value of a car and expects to get it for lower).

I appreciate all your comments though and you'll probably end up proving me wrong. The car is as genuine as they come, totally standard and very well cared for. Just hope it goes to a good home

Wouldn't disagree with you either! I am thinking of a trip to MRC too at some point, definitely understand they are the guys with the magic touch on these cars. However, for me it would be an 'in addition to...' thing (an investment in specialist attention) rather than 'instead of' if you get me. I mean, they wash the car at the main dealers when it's serviced, but that wouldn't mean it's not detailed by someone who *really* knows what they are doing. Think I'll keep the stamp up for a bit. :sleeping_2:

But after 10 years old and 100k miles - is that so relevant? Doubtful.
