I bounce every year between Admiral & Elephant - they are sister companies.

RS4 B7 - £230 :)

But DO the multi-car, I have 5 cars, it is cheap because of that with a £100 excess I believe and I live on an island, that helps.

About 75 quid in Soviet Russia.

The technical inspection document is another 50 but that's only because I don't want to waste time actually going to the local MOT.

Only thing to be careful of is that it becomes a non claims bonus across the fleet.

This comment got me wondering, so I googled car insurance postcode ratings...

http://www.carinsuranceexplained.com/ca ... -list.html

Sutton SM2 is a D!??? Outrageous! It's below average crime according to the met (40% below the average crime rate):

http://maps.met.police.uk/

Mind you, my old address in Croydon was a F :bash:

Still makes you wonder how the insurers come up with the ratings. Looks like the best you're going to get anywhere in Greater London is a "C"

I moved house about 3 years ago, which was approx. 1500 yards from the previous house.

My insurance company at the time requested an extra £400ish because I was now in high risk postcode Image

Only the last letter changed in the PC - both the same A rated PCs unsurprisingly. After explaining their stupidity to them they eventually backed down and I was only charged the £30 or so admin fee.

I moved from an A rated area to an E rated area (great area but within 5 miles of a sh!t area) with my previous Audi A5 3.0L TDI and my insurance went from £400 PA for fully comp protected to £2200 PA :o

Managed to get the RS for £700 in the end and that's at 33 yo, full no claims (13 years) no points or accidents!!!. Mean while my friends back home in the A rated area a rocking 500-600BHP motors for a few hundred quid!!!

That was a good tip, just renewed mine today :)

I was with Admiral, got an online quote through Elephant for about £390 (less than the £550ish I paid last year, which they offered to renew at £585), including a lower excess. Admiral matched the price, so happy with that.

34yo
Fully comp
15 years NCB
7000 miles/year
£100 voluntary excess
SW London (F rated postcode, apparently!)

Postcode ratings are generally what mess good people up in my experience. I have only ever lived in an A or B so I have enjoyed beneficial savings all my life. In terms of a 350BHP Williams Clio turbo I was paying around £1200 at 20-21 years old. Compare that to Some of you guys much much older with a similar clean driving license probably paying similiar to what I was.

Age 43, full no claims bonus, 3 points for speeding. Stage 2 remap and porting, my premium comes in at a whopping £600. The thing with mods is you have to take the time to talk to specialists, not just press some buttons in a search engine. I went with my third quote as I was running short of time.

As a comparison, my Alpina B3 BiTurbo* was £300 and so was my Audi S5, so the RS4 was about double!

I will be taking my time to looking elsewhere at renewal time.

Cheers,
Bryan
