This thread lists a handful of guys running 275/30 with 10mm.

Hoping the 8mm works, but I do appreciate the advice.

Yes but a handful also said they had rubbing. It's gonna be pretty close. What those that said they had no rubbing didn;t say was how much they load the back up with. I can't believe they have no rubbing with 4 adults in the car and standard suspension. If you have aftermarket springs / shocks such as a set of coilovers, the stiffer settings will stop the car dropping so much with extra weight in the back. Mine doesn't rub with me and the missus in the car, but stick the kids in the back (with my heavy boot install of wood, a big sub and amps and ancilliaries) and I rub over high speed bumps in the road. And that is with no spacers but 265 tyres on an ET26 wheel (equivalent of a 3mm spacer). With 8mm or 10mm spacers it'd rub with just me in the car.

You might be able to get away with it Silas, depending on ride height and stiffness of your KW v3s.

Jay - I'm with u there mate - whilst I don't see the appeal/point of stretching - I do like a subtly dropped car too - hence why I am going with the v3's (plus my front shocks are misting) - I expect my handling to improve as my car seems to love a bit of oversteer as soon as I push on especially round roundabouts.

Just purchased some 8mm's ready for my fresh rim refurb on Wednesday.

Can't wait as the rims are the only thing left to do now since I bought the car and they are seriously letting it down!

I'm contemplating spacers for my Avant and will obviously have to inform my insurer. It's a totally stock car. Has anyone been in the same situation, and did your premium increase by much? Don't want to buy a set then find I get stiffed by the insurer :)
Misano Red B7 RS4 Avant. 20" Rotors. KW adjustable spring kit. 8 & 10mm H&R spacers. MRC Stage 2 remap. Pre-cat delete & x-pipe.

We have all 8, 10, 12mm spacers in stock.

Anyone successfully running 275/30's with 8mm spacers all round?

I'm on a 275's with standard suspension and are considering 8mm spacers, car look like it needs them but advised they can rub.

Why would anyone fit 275's? Cost more money adverse handling and look <beep>.

Inform your insurance company your fitting spacers? Your shitting me. Lol

I have 255 tyres (Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 255/35 R19 96Y XL) and std suspension and am also thinking of going down the 10mm rear and 8mm front. Couple of questions :
- assume these will not rub
- what are the best spacers to get
- approx cost
- do they require longer wheel nuts

Any help appreciated
Cheers

No they shouldn't rub unless there is something wrong with your suspension.
I think most people get the H&R hubcentric ones. Becareful, there are many different flavours so best to buy them from someone that knows theirs beans like user Virdee or site sponsor Revolution.
I've forgotten the cost now sorry.
yes you will need longer bolts, probably best buying them the same time as the spacers. You will also need a new set of longer locking wheels nuts too. Virdee supplied me with spacers, bolt and locks all together.

Firstly; apologies if I am asking things that have already been covered in this post (or previous posts) but I'm currently in hospital following spinal surgery and my concentration level is not very good currently.

Seeing the pictures of before & after fitting 8mm spacers I would definitely like to fit them to my B7 saloon. I'm running the standard 255/35 x 19 tyres and simply want to know what are the best 8mm spacers (brand/make/supplier) to order and do I need longer wheel bolts? Obviously I don't want the tyres fouling the arches.

Is it simply a case of removing the wheels, fitting the 8mm spacers front & rear and refitting?

Thanks in anticipation,
CycleSi
