RS4 Saloon or Avant with 2 Young Kids?

Get the Avant, they look better for a start, plus you can load way more in the back,as you can put the rear net up and load to the ceiling if nessary, it all started of from the rs2. Avant form only?

Haha, you could have asked about carbon build up and it would have ended with a saloon vs. Avant war. Nothing new there.

I'm pretty sure ISOFIX is standard, but even if it's not, it can very easily be retrofitted for c.£100.

That's a point a lot of people make... but 'proper' or not the saloon B7, C5 and C6 all look better than their Avant counterparts. I guess it holds for the TTRS (haldex instead of quattro, but that 5-pot saves it) and afront that is the RSQ3 (even the engine can't save that one), but what about the RS7? Is big power in a wafty body not what original RSs were about? No one here can claim the B5 was any sort of sports car.

I've owned both and would have to say Get the Avant more space and they look far better from behind than the saloon. I always felt the saloon was never really finished at the back.

The only sensible thing to do is ignore all the chatter on here about saloon vs. Avant vs. cabrio - try them for yourself, and buy what suits YOU.

They're all RS4s, that's all that matters - end of.

Boot is huge in the saloon, rear leg room isn't up to much. I always thought the Avant looked slightly od in the rear, the lights are different shape , saloon more elegant as the lights follow the curve of the boot and more aggressive imo.

I also think the avant's looks date faster due to the squareness of the rear, when you look at the newer B8 and C7 Avant, the trend is to make the back end more sloped.

I think the point of this thread was which one is more practical with kids, avant has more storage in the back, plus you can through load, it's more practical end of story

Only joking. I guess it depends just how much baby stuff you have to cart around. It goes without saying the avant is more practical. The boot in the saloon is huge but obviously not as huge. My sister just had a baby and manages to fill every single inch of her 1 series with baby stuff when she comes over so I guess Avant is the safer option.

I have a saloon which I absolutely love.. But still think the Avant looks soo much more aggressive.. Saw a black one driving past us at the weekend and it looked fantastic.. To the point where I almost went back on Pistonheads and started searching for one lol.. Whichever one you choose you won't be disappointed, they are fantastic cars.
