Wheel colour opinions
Wheel colour opinions
I have an Avus silver Avant and the wheels are in need of a refurb so was wondering what opinions are on best/nicest colour to do them? The car has full black optics so tempted to do wheels black or grey or is it best to keep original?
All opinions welcome.
Cheers

Personal opinion
I'm not a fan of black wheels on Silver or Grey cars but like I say that's my personal opinion. Silver alloys to me would look the best or maybe an Anthracite or Shadow chrome finish. At the end of the day your paying for them so its whatever makes you happy that counts.

Misano Red| Black Optics| Black alloys| Black mirrors| Full CC at MRC| MRC Stage 2 Manifold| MRC Stage 2 Remap| De-Catted| KW V3 with H&R Fr & rear ARB| H&R Hubcentric spacers 8mm Fr, 10mm rear| A few choice CF goodies to go on|

Re: Wheel colour opinions
Yeh I saw that, and look good. I'm still leaning towards getting them black and doing the mirrors too as there will be no other silver on the car. I think whatever colour I decide away from silver will have to get the mirrors to match.
Re: Wheel colour opinions
I have an Avus silver Avant with standard silver wheels - IMHO they look superb and wouldn't change them. Still, they are unmarked, original and with no damage at all. It's always a personal thing and whether you want to retain originality. I don't thing Audi did a bad job of the original article, so why change it. Like I say, it's what you like when all's said and done.....
Re: Wheel colour opinions
Think they set off the car nicely
Toyed with black for a while but Ti works
Re: Wheel colour opinions
I'm a big fan of black wheels so I'd say go for it.
At the end of the day it's no huge drama if you don't like them.

Re: Wheel colour opinions
Yeh, I think the darker wheels enhance the body colour, and like you say, they're easily changed back. I think I'll try and find somewhere that'll wrap the mirrors rather than paint then it is an easy job to return to original.
Wheel colour opinions
Let me just leave these here, I have toyed with this for months
Re: Wheel colour opinions
With black optics you gotta go for dark wheels.
Re: Wheel colour opinions
The last time the subject was posted I asked if anyone has tried another wheel colour with mugello blue .....and have pics to show
I am edging towards standard silver for a refurb but still not 100%

Mugello blue avant black optics...Nearly standard...milltek resonated valved, spaced 10 rear 8 front☺
