Just a quick report back on my clutch issue, which was if I went from a standing start at say 4k approx car would pull away but spinning the clutch then the clutch pedal would loose resistance and stay about half way down, strong smell of burning clutch ... No not good

Put the car into Camberley Audi, they changed the clutch return pipe, job done.... Feels great.... Fingers crossed it continues

Ouch...well I guess that's one way of getting to the bottom of the problem.

At least you can now enjoy it mate and you also have the benefit of a 2 year warranty on all the parts.

Cheers fellas...could have messed about changing the pressure plate and seeing if that worked..but if it didn't , then you try something else and it could go on and labour costs would have been silly..unless you know the exact cause, you are taking a gamble...just glad it's done and I can enjoy the car over the summer ...I love this car..

Just to follow up on my thread from earlier in the year - (Thought it was better to update here)

http://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=106465

I had the dreaded sticky clutch.
Back in March the garage replaced the master and slave cylinders.
I was told that all hydraulics were replaced but someone was fibbing to me!!

Drove fine for 3 months...
Anyway about 3 weeks ago I stated to get the sticky clutch again.
And it was happening more frequently than before.
Back onto the garage and they admitted that the return pipe had not been replaced back in March.
They also said that my warranty was up so I was on my own :(
So back into a local indy and got the pipe replaced.
That worked for a few days, but sticky pedal came back again and ended up not being able to select gears at all.

Quite annoyed at this stage so got back onto the garage where I bought the car, they agreed to get it into Audi for a checkup.
Audi came back saying that the pedal itself was broken, it was comng back up too far, bout an inch further than the brake. (the indy garage had noticed this and said it would need sorting too)

Anyway Audi's diagnosis was that the broken pedal was causing the sticky pedal, which in turn was burning the clutch out.
Need a new clutch pedal assembly and full new clutch at a cost of 2k

Luckily enough the original garage has agreed to cover it - even though I was out of warranty. (Got talking to the right boss!!)

So I'll have it back next week with all replaced - looking forward to it.
