A word of warning to fellow owners....

Thought i would share a very annoying experience that i had last night. To cut a long story short i had an attempted break in on my car last night, im almost certain they would of been after my seats, 2.30 at night on my drive right under my bedroom window, and i live in a nice area, cheeky bastards. Thankfully there was only very minimal damage and they didnt get into the car, im not going to list what this was as i dont want to give any potential thieves who may be browsing the forum any pointers.

What i wanted to warn fellow owners of is the fact that after investagation today they were not far off getting in my car and the alarm would of not gone off if they had got a bit further and managed to open the door. Which i think is bloody terrible, its bad enough that it didnt go off when the car was being tamperd with let alone if the door is opend without the key. In my opinion there is basically nothing that could be done to make the actual car more secure so i urge all fellow owners to take out all possible security measures to prevent thieves, weither that be putting the car in a garage (i have a garage but the car was not in it at the time as its full of stuff) or using deterrants such as security lights/cameras.

Such a shame that this type of thing is so common nowdays and spoiling ownership of a great car. Hope this will help some of you getting in a similar situation to me. Cheers

I live in peterborough, think its worth most people preparing for it as these cars arent as secure as people may think, which is why i felt the need to share my experience to try and prevent the same happening to others

Mine lives in the garage all the time... with 'Strong Arm' steering lock security lights and motion sensor / infra red CCTV. If they do get away with it there is an intelligent tracker on the car that will alert me and the feds and then give precise location details even if they have taken it underground. Excessive? No - been broken in to and had keys stolen before (different car) and now I want to sleep at night.

Peterborough is only 25 miles from me

Luckily I have decent security - car is garaged overnight every night, garage is alarmed. Extensive CCTV on the house and garage, with floodlights obviously. And as above, car is fitted with a tracker in case they do manage to get it out of the garage somehow.

I think the priority is to stop the opportunity in the first place. Lesson here (with respect!) is to get the car back in the garage asap and get whatever stuff is in there out sharpish lol.

Totally agree a big lesson learnt, will look into the aftermarket alarms as the standard one is turd and just dosent work
