Re: ever feel complacent?
Really don't think the mileage actually affects them personally - it's just a shame you take such a hug hit on depreciation as there is the stigma with higher mileage cars. Mine tripped over 125k last night. Stung a bit but then I think about how only a month ago it made 440+ps and it's better than the day it left the factory. OK - maybe the suspension isn't as perfect and the seats are a little more tired, but as something that's well loved and looked after, it wouldn't put me off getting another higher mileage car

Believe only the man who has nothing to gain from what he says.

Re: ever feel complacent?
What's the point in looking at a car! If you enjoy driving it, do it as often as possible. Life can be very short and if you have done 150,000 miles in it then you have had a 150,000 smiles. Surely that is worth a little depreciation. The biggest regret I have is I did not do enough miles before I sold it.

My thoughts exactly terry! I take it out at every opportunity lol.
And it'll be going back to der fatherland for a ring trip next month that'll see another 1500+ miles on it for one trip - but what a journey

Yes - 14th to 19th August. For some reason I thought it was last month... Either way - soon!

I still manage to do 10,000 and I am away half the year! These cars run better with regular use anyway.
Having said that, I can't stop looking at Abarth 595's for running around town in.

Re: ever feel complacent?
The 4 is my normal everyday car and I spank her every single time that the engine gets up to temperature, without fail. She always entertains and is eager to please, like a good hooker really. Nice and quick and hilarious on a-b roads.
When I want to go and better everything on the road I take the keys for the 6 off madam and remind myself what effortless speed is
.
I can say with absolute honesty, I never look at current MPG, average MPG and simply don't care. I actually laugh when I manage to drain a full tank on the 4 in under 150 miles.

Re: ever feel complacent?
I use mine daily, and usually feel bad if sat in traffic or just cruising around town so I'll go for a quick blast just to keep the car happy. Same goes for long journeys, I tend to try and take the scenic route on the way home.

Re: ever feel complacent?
I have a A500c (they didn't do a 595 when I got mine) but I have done some light mod's and mine runs abut 180bhp and is massive fun and you can rag it everywhere and it pops, whistles and bangs and ultimate is cheap fun. I love it in the same way as the RS but they are poles apart. I only bought on a whim after I had the second bumper of my R32 stolen I passed the stealer saw my car, drove round the block and went in an test drove and had bought it within an hour. - do it !coffey555 wrote:I still manage to do 10,000 and I am away half the year!
