Bubbling Arches
Bubbling Arches
At the beginning of last month i noticed 3 of the inner arches had just started to bubble, i took the car straight to Audi bodyshop who took pictures and submitted a claim against the anti corrosion. Last week the claim was rejected but was told Audi good will will pay 70% of the cost so i decided to contact Audi UK as i was not happy with this. Just had an email back from them quite clearly telling me it is a paint issue which is only covered for 3 years.
Has anyone else had this issue?

Re: Bubbling Arches
I would have taken their offer tbh , I had this on my old rs4 and audi told me to feck off politely even though I pointed out that it was zinc inclusions too . Ended up getting it done by my local bodyshop

Re: Bubbling Arches
I have accepted their offer, car booked in Monday, but I'm still not happy about it hence the question on here.
They gave me 3 weeks to have the work completed by them which doesn't give much time to question this further.

Re: Bubbling Arches
My arch was/is bubbling and Audi authorised the repair, but the 'zinc inclusions' in the rear door aren't covered for the same reason. I asked for some sort of clarification as to why it counts as a paint issue (like you said, 3 year warranty) but they guy just said "HQ will reject that, no point even submitting it". Seems a pretty arbitrary distinction, bubbling around zinc would actually suggest corrosion nearby is being averted, but it's still a corrosion issue and nothing to do with the paint.

Did Audi authorise as 70% good will or FOC?MartayMcFly wrote:My arch was/is bubbling and Audi authorised the repair, but the 'zinc inclusions' in the rear door aren't covered for the same reason.
