Time for a change

Post by Wilko » Wed May 28, 2014 8:46 pm

So, after 2 and a half years, and with our second baby due within the month, I decided the RS4 was feeling a bit dated and it was time for a change.

After a bit if research I thought a new S4 Avant would be the best bet, so I tracked down a friendly Audi Dealer and arranged a test drive. I must say the Supercharged V6 mates well with the 7 Speed Auto and I was impressed with the performance, though it's not quite RS4 as standard, and the car feels much more up to date than the B7 cabin.

Anyway, back in the dealership a deal was struck, including 2 years free servicing, but we couldn't get where I needed to be for a brand new S4. So the B7 is going and I pick up an 8 month old B8 on Friday, fortunately for me it comes with the latest version of Audi's high revving V8! When it came to it I couldn't walk away from the RS's, but I think Daytona Grey will make a nice change.

I still prefer the older, more involving 7 incher. It is all the co.... car you will ever need.

Bam, it's not the size of the nail, it's the size of the hammer that counts! :bigblink:

The B7 was a cracking car, just started to feel a bit dated, and I have to say I'm well impressed with the B8.

It's different.

The TTS Roadster I had had a similar one so I pretty much knew what I was getting. It definitely improves performance but it is a bit less involving to drive, I haven't done that many miles yet but it's been in the manual mode for most of them, when it hasn't it's been in Sport!

The should have offered a manual option IMHO :audibash:
