Iphone phone holder

Post by KGRS4 » Sat May 31, 2014 1:30 pm

Hi all,

When I got the RS4 it never came with the phone holder only the part the holder clips onto, ive now been given a holder from a work colleague but its for an Iphone 4 and I have the 5

I was thinking of using this http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009 ... d_i=468294 has anyone tried this from the Iphone 4 holder to their own iphone5?

Thanks in advance

Try your bluetooth as your car probably has it built in and hence no need for a holder. My old B6 S4 had a phone holder and someone told me it had bluetooth built in and hey presto it did. I changed my centre console for £72 from Audi.
RS4 B7, Mugello Blue, K&W V3 & HR ARBs, set up by Centre Gravity, Milltek Valved Non Res & cat bypass pipes, BMC air filter, braided hoses, DOT 5.1, Terraclean, MRC Full Carbon Clean, MRC remap 448PS 477NM, 20" S7 alloys with 4mm spacers & Hawke spigots 66.6 > 57.1, AP Racing front discs. Sold Sept 2019. Now rocking an F80 M3

yeah ive done that through the 5 and works no probs, it was more for the voice recognition to get that working instead of having to go through turning the button etc

If you have the phone holder integrated, then bluetooth is part of the car - the module sits behind the dash.

I quite liked the capability of charging my iPhone and the small PTT button on the base of the iPhone adapter allows certain phone related voice SDS commands. I purchased my iPhone 5 holder form ebay - German guy on ebay. The item number is '221337945830' - sold now obviously but maybe content him as he may have another - it was brand new OEM Audi and cheaper than a dealer...

The phone holder also connects your phone to the external aerial so you get a stronger signal, plus it's cuts down on the radiation in the car supposedly. The lightning connector will charge you phone, but as the 5 is larger than the 4 it won't clip in properly, so could get launched during "spirited" driving!

I've got a 6 month old iPhone 5 holder that I no longer require as I've changed cars if you're interested? It's as new without a mark on it, no box though.
