Arthur you know that you never buy a car with your head only your heart and cars never make financial sense. The problem is that we married with our hearts where as we should have made sure it made financial sense. Oh it's valentines day Jay go and buy her a bunch of Red Roses with a note telling her that the roses are for her and the car is for you

Terry mate, got that one nailed hours ago :bigblink:

I have to say, she's supported me amazingly since we got together - far more dollar then me through family, seems they made far better decisions than mine in the past, spunking money on cars not being one of them!

We're away on holiday next week and she's not pressuring me to get rid, I think she understands.

I've been married a looooong time but I wont say I have it figured out yet

The purchase can be emotional AND tempered by logic
The long term will be more enjoyable and less stressful (financially, buyers remorse, relationship)

I got my Jamie an orchid
She still has them from years ago

She would never give me a ultimatum or even pressure me
She trusts me financially and I her

And although you cant make money on cars like ours you can minize the cost over time
My cars end up costing me less than $200 month to drive excluding fuel, insurance, etc

Buy used
Buy something kind of special with ltd qtys
Maintain them well
Keep them 5+ years
And get some reimbursed business use if possible

I actually broke even on my e36 and e46 M3's
But drove them 200k & 140k
