Seriously though, have a look and see what an extra £20k on any mortgage is likely to be, and if you can't mortgage against the property you're looking at, see what the implications are of releasing some equity from your other rental property. You'd be gutted not having a nice car and you'll look like a knob in smart car
Saying that, my mrs made sure a big chunk of my toy car fund disappeared in our recent house move, and she's still not happy or probably never will be and the holiday plans seem to be getting more and more extravagant as the days go by
FWIW, I never tell her the value of things, so I'm lucky that she knows shoes and dresses, but has no idea on the costs of cars, bikes and watches
