Attempted seat theft: SW London
Re: Attempted seat theft: SW London
I agree completley - although if they were chipped would be interesting to see a scanner run round a show ! I remember a proddie bike race in the 80s and about half the grid got taken away !

Really sorry for you mate but glad they got the bastard. Maybe the universe believes in karma and he'll get some infected cuts off the glass.
If he goes down and anyone fancies a whip around so you can buy the copper a drink let me know!

Re: Attempted seat theft: SW London
Always makes me cringe when I hear this, there's been too many cases of like this in the area (I'm in Battersea) - not always limited to RS cars either.
Hopefully this scumbag will be off the streets for a while..

Re: Attempted seat theft: SW London
Sorry to resurrect this gloomy subject. I'm researching B7 RS4 seat thefts for an article in the Telegraph. Two more in SW London this year, one a definite write-off, and that's just people I know! Anyone here who suffered from this want to PM me? Ben, did you get anywhere with the police?
Thanks, Nick

Yeah please post it up on here! That's worth a trip from Bristol to sort that outGraeme4130 wrote:You'll get the name and address in the prosecution documents when the case comes to court - No harm putting it up on here as you never know what might happenIan_C wrote:You owe your neighbours a beer!![]()
Also buy the policeman a beer to find out the offenders name because.....

Re: Attempted seat theft: SW London
An update on this matter from my point of view. The case against the accused in my case was dropped, despite some matching glass fragments in his clothing and the Stanley blade on his person. The CPS weren't confident of a successful case. The eyewitness lost line of sight before the police arrived, so despite matching descriptions, that evidence wasn't good enough either.
On going back to Wimbledon Audi for my service, I was told of two more '4s that had been in since. One was, I think, being written off. It's quite ridiculous, in my mind, that what is clearly a spate of careful targeting is getting these cars written off and that there isn't now a clear trail of these seats flowing somewhere?
I'm grateful that I do at least have my car back and I've gone down the aftermarket alarm route as a deterrent. I genuinely hope this is stamped out soon.... I really feel for these latest victims.
