Something's not right with your car.
I had 255/35x19 PS2s when we were in France a few years back, and my Avant was fully (yes really, fully) laden with as much wine as I could cram in the back and still have room for 2 suitcases - no rubbing...
Never had any problem with 275/30x19 F1s either.
Currently got 255/35x19 PSSs, and not getting any rubbing with them, even when carrying 4 people plus loads of Xmas presents around.
Hmm it's a weird one alright,
When I bought the car in 2007 ( demo model) it was with OEM 18' alloy equipped with Pirelli - no rubbing problem then
I changed for contisport - no issue
My third set were Bridgestone R050, still with the 18' alloys - it rubbed!
Didn't mind so much as I had decided to purchase a set of 19' from Audi so I got them earlier than planned and fitted them straight with contis - no issue
Next set were contis again, this time with 10mm and 8mm spacers, still fine
My last set were the current PS2, and they rubbed even after taking the spacers off...
Audi had a very good look and tried the car on the last 2 services, test drove etc... They cannot find anything - I though it was my shocks that were perhaps tired, but I think we can trust Audi who would have recommended a change if they'd shown any sign of weakness,
The problem is that the roads around where my Audi dealer is based are smooth and the roads where the rubbing takes place are extremely bumpy
So my next tyres will be Eagle F1, and I'll keep my fingers crossed...
