ADVICE ON B7 RS4 SALE

Post by mof777 » Mon Dec 16, 2013 10:54 pm

Had my Rs4 a year now but running it alongside an impreza isnt that practical for me. two saloon cars is proving tricky with the addition of a dog!

its a saloon 2007 07 in sprint blue with just under 61k

all sounds straight forward eh - whats the problem?

this weeks mot! its passed but i have advisories as follows

front discs worn but not seriously weakened
2 front shocks light misting of oil
drc pipes corroding

any advice welcome on where to pitch the price at please?

would rather the new owner deal with the issues so long as the sale price reflected that.

just dont have the time really to sort it out. thanks for the reply though

by SEM I assume you mean the guys in Sunderland? They do very good wheel refurbs. I've used them a few times.

I'm surprised the MOT check noted DRC corrosion - I thought MOT was a more generic ticky box affair?

You have 4ks worth of work to do there.

I'd say sorted you could probably get 20k for it private, which means a fair price is probably 16k

However if I were you I'd put it up for 18 and go from there. Make sure you let the new owner know what they are getting into though. Because he/she will find this post at some point!

thanks.

the mot tester didnt even know what the drc pipes were but pointed out the corrosion on the advisories.
its a shame but then i would say most rs4's go through this situation at one point so its nothing particularly alien to the car

yes 'sem' sunderland - great job they did
