Cheers mate

How long did it take you to fit and check? I would be up for trying it out but might be pushed for time before the 5th. Will get back to you.

I read somewhere that if one sensor goes its enough for them all to fault? Is that wrong?

Takes about a minute to remove the panel underneath the bumper and about another minute to change the aerial.

Then go for a drive to make sure the sensors wake up and check to see if they are reading back any values with the VCDS cable and a laptop.

I don't think one sensor going down will stop the others from working but you never know. I would have thought it would just flag up the flat tyre error but you should still be able to read back data from the other three that are still working? But you know what they say about assumption being the mother of all.......

I am getting no data back from any of the TPMS sensors at all.

Just read on Google that the TPMS system uses the satellite radio module to read back the sensor signals? I wonder if the aerial is connected to this?

Might disconnect the cars battery to see if it resets anything (clutching at straws).

If you have an aerial fault it should show up on the 65 tire pressure controller fault code.

The codes I was getting are:

2 Faults Found:
01521 - Sensor for Tire Pressure
014 - Defective - Intermittent - MIL ON
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 10101110
Fault Priority: 3
Fault Frequency: 6
Reset counter: 40
Time Indication: 0

Freeze Frame:
(no units): 0.0
Voltage: 13.70 V
(no units): 60.0
Not Recogn.

02214 - Tire Pressure Warning
000 - -
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 01100000
Fault Priority: 1
Fault Frequency: 65
Reset counter: 40
Time Indication: 0

Freeze Frame:
(no units): 33.0
Temperature: 8.0°C
Error Code: 1
Not Recogn.

I coded it out to shut the alarm up. What codes are you all getting?

It seams a number of things can cause these faults, it would be interesting to see if we all have the same or different.

Marty you can show us how to eliminate things :beerchug:

It is pretty weird they are all going at the same time :sekret:

Looks like pretty much the same error codes as mine.

I wonder what Ian is getting?

I just disabled mine again until tomorrow.

Google misled you there - the satellite radio module is only fitted to US & Canada cars (for Sirius or XM) and has nothing at all to do with the TPMS system.

The only link between the two separate systems is that early versions of the satellite radio modules generated so much interference that they stopped the TPMS from working, so Audi had to issue new versions of the satellite radio modules that could co-exist with TPMS.

And all that only applies in the USA and Canada anyway :biggrin2:

Cheers Dave, that is one less thing to check then :-)

I am hoping it is the TPMS controller being broken: 8E0 907 273

If that does not fix it I will just leave the TPMS switched off!

Coffey555 - Have you replaced your sensors and if so, did you get Beru ones or Siemans?

Hi Sam, not changed the sensors yet but if I do it will be the Beru 007 ones. I am getting no data back from any of the sensors so I think my TPMS controller is faulty.

Has to be cheaper than four sensors so that is the next step of the fault finding exercise.

Found these for £66 each : http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/tpms/h ... ms_sensors

Ok well that scuppers my line of thought which was sensors operating on a different frequency. Perhaps someone nearby could lend you their working wheel/sensors to try out on a test drive?

Just checked out that link and I'm confused as to what sensors you should get? I wish that I actually took photos of the new ones I had supplied by Audi because the Audi part number on my invoice and the packaging is 7PP907275F and that is not listed in the product line-up and the closest one is the RDE010 which is £384 for a set of four. I paid £325 including 10% discount from my Audi dealer?

Pretty sure it is the 007 versions for the B7 RS4, I will double check before I order them though.

The two guys nearest to me both have the same issue lol!

I know a man with the cleanest wheels in the world ever who is local but he is working away just now plus I would be scared of getting them dirty! He might be bribed with beer though.....

Will see if I can find the TPMS controller tomorrow (think it is on the driver side in the boot near the amp) and then price up a replacement.

Just checked and the Beru website lists RDE 007 for our RS4's.

I have had a complete set of replacement valve stems in the glove-box for over a year!

Beer is always a good place to start for a bribe. Just checked Elsawin for the TPMS controller location and have attached a couple of screen grabs (click to enlarge).

First shows the location as being on the left hand side?

The second at the bottom describes the coding procedure.

Marty,

I'm not back till Christmas but if you really want to try one of my wheels before i'm back then no problem. Just let me know and i'll get it arranged.
You won't get them dirty though, will you???? :bigblink: :bigblink:
