Info on rotor alloys

Post by Cal.rs4 » Wed Nov 13, 2013 9:42 pm

Just a quick question as I'm in the process of buying some new wheels. At the moment I'm
running standard 19" rs4 alloys which are et29 on 255 tyres. It's lowered on h&r springs and I'm
after some ttrs rotors with big concave. They are 20x9 et35. What spacers and tyres will I need to run so they don't rub?

Cheers

I'm unsure about the concave dish on rotors, however I'm running 3SDM's which are 19x9.5 ET35 with 245/35/19 tyres.

I've had to run 20mm spacers to clear my front brakes which I'd never have estimated having run so many different rims on cars before.

Mike's running 20inch rotors, he'll sort you out.

Most people run et 19 standard rs4 et29 with 10mm spacers, any less than that and you will scrub on the rear,
You need 10s or 15s

Atm I'm running 15mm on the rear and 10mm on the front with et29 so do you reckon the et35's will rub with them spacers?

The ET35 wheels are not rs5 rotors so not sure what your caliper clearance will be like. As they are not from an rs5 I don't know if they are concave enough to give you the clearance without using a spacer so big they end up rubbing on the arch instead.
The rs5 wheels have a ET26 offset so a 10mm spacer with the ET35 will give you the equivalent of ET25 so theoretically ok assuming the calipers are clear. Once you have the spacing right a 255/30/20 tyre will be exactly the same overall size as your OEM tyres so will rub just as much or little as they do now, but that is assuming you have the wheel in exactly te same place as standard.
So a 6mm spacer would put them in exactly the same place as the OEM but I doubt very much they will clear the caliper. It would probably be best starting with a 10mm spacer but I'm still dubious about caliper clearance as I'm not familiar with the concave-ness of this particualr offset.

I didn't think the TTRS ones had a big concave like the RS5 ones. Can you try before you buy?

THose are reps, i had them also but the mat paint in 9x20 ET35 and those dont have the massive concave as the OEM Rs5 ones..

plus you need around 18mm spacers to sit them flush

Pretty sure TT-RS rotors have the same offset as my S6 at ET52.

I think he means TT-RS style wheels.

I have the 9x20 et26 rs5 original audi wheel on mine...without spacers...but at the front there are only 3mm space at the caliper...

look here...the rs5 is the best concave rotor wheel...
when you need a set, I can send a new one to you...but then please pm me...
