H & R fully adjustable Coilovers.....

Post by vestax32 » Thu Oct 24, 2013 8:33 am

Does anyone have these, and what are the thoughts on them? They seem to be a fair bit cheaper than the other options (kw3 etc) at around £1000 for the full set.

H&R are cheaper then Kw3 and the like but they only have adjustable ride height - no dampening adjustment. Most people seem happy with them however!

To be honest you will would be better off spending the extra for the kw's was speaking to a customer at mrc who lives out near the nurburgring, and he was saying hes gone through most set ups but has found the kw's to be the best, not just for track but for comfort

I've also got kw's and find them great, but wanted to give you an idea from someone who has done 400 plus laps on the ring

I've got H&Rs on my avant, sitting pretty low along with the 20" wheels and its perfect.

Unfortunately I've not had a chance to ride a standard rs4, they were fitted when I bought the car.

However, as I say, with the 20s and the 30 profile tyres it's perfect. If you were to drive it without knowing what's fitted, you wouldn't assume coilovers and 20s

The KWv3's are also of superior finish especially suited to our cr4p weather and the sh1te they put on the roads during winter. I also run KWv3's, I found them far superior to the DRC set up and the ride is no harsher than the OEM kit and I am running 'MRC fast Road Settings' with quiet an aggressive drop in ride height,

You can get lowering springs & some can even fit them without re-presurising the DRC although I would suspect is better to take to Unit 20 or somewhere that just disconnects & reconnects the DRC to make the job easier.
