Mini meet West Yorkshire

Post by kay » Mon Sep 30, 2013 11:11 pm

Right then boys. Me and tonyhayers hooked up the other night ( not in that way bam bam lol). We went out for a meal and checked out each other's ......cars! Behave bam bam. Obviously no national rs4 gathering this year, but Scotland boys did their own little gathering and down south their own. So we thought why don't we have our own mini meet around the Leeds area; I think we have a few Leeds newbies on board. It will probably be a Sunday, just for a couple of hrs or so, preferably near a decent stretch of road. Maybe bring our own packed lunch along or if there's a nearby subways etc. You can go for a pax ride in Tonys car to hear his gruppe m type induction kit, sounds awesome by the way, or ask him to use his VCDS on your car, can listen to a miltek on mine, or see how a car with h and r springs looks. What says you??

erm, kay

Anyway, I'm happy to report that despite reports to the contrary, having seen kays car I can confirm that there *is* an RS4 in West Yorkshire that doesn't look like it's done 500 back-to-back laps of a supermarket car park in rush hour, blindfolded. It also has two front seats.

I'm up for a West Yorkshire gathering, as long as nobody invites the car jackers. Those dudes can really put a downer on a performance car meetup.

May I suggest somewhere in Leeds? No reason, it's just central, for me.

May I suggest a decently well populated area that is well lit? Bit paranoid at the moment as my office got turned over last Thursday night and I don't want some pikey thieving, lowlife scum jacking us at a meet.

Sorry guys for delay. Apart from workin pretty long hrs this wk, I thought I would give atleast a week for peeps to respond to this thread to gauge the level of interest. I think it's fair to say we've got enough numbers to give ourselves a mini meet. There could be more interested but who may be away on hols right now.
I myself will be away school half term (thus unavailable sun 27th oct through to and possibly including sun the 3rd nov), and Sundays is the only day I'm pretty much guaranteed to be not working.
For the Leeds boys, do u guys know where B&Q, PC world etc is near whiterose shoppin centre ( and near porsche, Ferrari, aston Martin dealerships), cos there's a decent car park there plus a gud stretch of a few roads, eating place, shoppin centre to drop off the women and fairly easy to get to for out of towners. I have on some Sundays noticed they have an American car meet there. What do u think?
There's quite a few short tunnels in Leeds on the A64 York rd. however, there's one tunnel I noticed a week or two ago that I haven't gone through yet and it appears longer than the others. Can't remember its exact location but was underneath the a64 ring road. I need to venture through there!
If there's quite a few boys comin from m62 Manchester way, they may prefer getting off at M606 and at end off M606, before entering Bradford, there's a shell fuel station with a couple of eating places and plenty of unused parking behind it and obviously the short M606 stretch of road to do runs on. Thoughts?

I personally wil be going into Leeds today to do a bit of shopping in whiterose and then pick my daughter up at 5 from city centre,so if a few boys wanna hook up for a mini mini meet today between 3-4,before the actual big meet, and to test the location .....just a thought cos weather is nice.
