That was first gen S8, right? Awesome film. With this I could pretend I'm Jason Statham in Transporter 3; except that was a W12, I have hair, and want to be in a GOOD movie.

Yes it was. Great car, great film and some great driving scenes.

I also liked all the Transporter films too.

Look hard enough on the 5.2 lump and you will find this.

My friend ran one out here in Dubai for a couple of years and while not in the same league as the RS4 for driving experience it is still one heck of a piece of kit! Super comfortable, sooo much space (he like you had kids to consider) and the V10 is magnificant!! Just a shame he never changed the standard exhaust before he sold it.

If I remember right the finger print recognition didn't start the car (any finger of any person would start it with the key present in the car) but brought up your settings for seat position, radio station, temp settings, etc.

I wonder if anyone's actually had that lump bored and tuned to Lambo spec?

I have to point out though that the engine is not dervied from a Lambo, but the other way round. It started of as the 3.2 V6 as found in the A3, then became the 4.2 V8, then became the 5.0/5.2 V10.

However, if I had one, I would probably still claim that it was Lambo derived engine.
I don't think you can say the the 4.2 v8 came from the 3.2, completely different and wasn't even a proper v engine. If anything, the v8 would probably been derived from the 2.8 from the a4/a6

Absolutely - the 3.2 has a single head casting with odd and even cylinders offset into 2 rows within it - it was one of the VAG so-called "VR6" engines designed to be small enough to fit transversely into the existing FWD platform (which Audi usually badge as a V6).

^^^^ Yeah I worked at VAG when they released what they called at the time narrow and wide angle V6's. Common head and transverse fitting on the narrow angle.

If I push the button on this thing then an exhaust is on top of my list, quickly followed by a touch of easy lowering (http://forums.audiworld.com/showthread. ... o+lowering). The only thing I'm arsed about is that no bugger on this forum seems to own one and all the conversation seems to occur in the B7 RS4 section... I'll constantly be having my posts moved by mods...

Wasn't the car for me after all. Oh well. Time to spend more money on the RS! :blackrs4:

I very nearly went for it but a few things didn't stack up. Nothing dodgy, all above board... But nevertheless. I would consider one again, just not this one. In the meantime, going to get some minor bodywork issues sorted, wheels done properly and a set if KW adjustable springs on it. At that point, knowing my luck, some c*nt will steal my buckets and stick them in a MKV Golf.

Note to potential thieves: A massive dog sleeps in the boot and I was referring to two buckets that I fill with it's food and keep on the back seat.
