Mike it's my understanding it is the normal system not the loud one. It is cat backs only and has kept precats and had silencers fitted towards the front of the system to take away some of the sound. It's an amazing set up quiet when off the throttle with no drone and instantly satisfying with the smallest pressure increase on the throttle but not so much it has you cringing or leaving you with fingers in ears.

Massively impressed!

The tubi are blacked tipped normal at least that is what I ordered. When I fitted them I found them a fraction loud and was not happy at about 30 mph. I had two small silencers added just after the cats. This gave me the sound I was after, almost Oem at 30 and cruising speeds whilst on acceleration a V8 orchestral work of art. Good to see you Gareth and put a face to fellow forum member. Hope you enjoyed the trip round the ring with Sabine.

As far as I know Tubi don't make a cat back system, just back boxes, so did you orignally cut the OEM exhaust to fit the back box or did you have a custom bit made up to make it into a Tubi / custom cat back?

They are only 35 miles away. I feel a buy and pick up coming on Terry :D I just need to find out what silencers you used and the guy who put it all together for you.

I think I will be taking the plunge and joining the Tubi gang on here!

This is the full range:
http://www.eurospares.co.uk/TubiStyle_E ... &S=rs4&O=0

Two noise variations and each one coming with twin oval or quad pipes giving a total of4 versions.

Be warned, it's not immediately obvious but those prices are excluding VAT.

Remember Gareth, these are back boxes only so you'll either need to cut your OEM exhaust or get a custom jobbie. I had the Tubi cut to mate up with the Milltek centre sections making it a cat back exhaust.

Difficult to decide which end fitting to go for. Tempted to get a custom end fitting shaped like the Capristo to fit to the contour of the rear diffuser. I thought that would be the case Mike, planning on using the guys Terry had do his silencers for the whole job.

Can't wait for Monday now

Night and day between custom non-res and Milltek non-res? If that's the case they must have zero wadding etc in the Milltek back boxes or something :)

There's nowhere else I can see where the difference would occur.

I don't know anyone who has done their own custom non-res and then compared it to Milltek. People tend to go straight from stock catback to Milltek catback and [of course, surprise surprise!] it sounds better/louder.

Tony, I think sonny was comparing the sound of the milltek against the stock exhaust with resonators removed (not sure if that is what you meant by custom non-res) so he was basically comparing the stock back box to the milltek one, of which you'd expect to be very different.

I didn't realise there was two threads running talking about the same thing...or I have had one to many beers!

I think the rear back oem back boxes do have sound deadening in them where as the Millteks dont. Anyone hacked one up?

What I can say Sonny the Oem back boxes are about 5 times heavier than the Tubi back boxes.

Sounds about right mate, most oem exhausts are heavier than after market options.

They're pretty much a sealed unit I think.
