Concur with lengster1, in my day a 150bhp Astra GTE or Escort RS turbo were mental, and so was insurance.
400bhp was Ferrari and beyond only.

Couldn't afford any of them in 1991 when I was 21!

After all, the B7 RS4 is going to appreciate from now and could be worth £35k in 10 years...

According to the Sun (via another thread!)

Enjoy, and keep the glove box stuffed with contraception...
Haha that's the answer I like :biggrin3:

Thing is in life you never know what's round the corner, could be a winning lottery ticket or a bus haha. I may never get the funds or have the opportunity in 5-10 years time, I am sure at 21 you wasn't thinking about houses & savings ect haha.

Each to their own i guess - were just the olkder guys trying to part some of our wisdom onto you younger ones :)

Plus have to say im slighlty concerned with 21 year old running around in 400bhp cars on the same roads as me.

For reference i was thinking about buying a house at 21 - wanted my own independance and to get on the property ladder as soon as i could becuase i could see that the lobger you wait the hard it gets - saved for deposit and bought own house at age of 23.

Still had enough money to round round in cheaper quick cars - Mk1 Astra GTE, Astra 16v GTE, Scooby etc - before i finalluy stepping up into an Audi S4 then the RS4 - this also meant i was progressive in the power each car gave me.

If owning an RS4 is your thing then good luck, just hope you dont go mad with all the power and hurt yourself or look back in a few years thinking i wish i had saved for a house :)

Haha why you concerned ? I already have a almost 300bhp st & I don't drive like these younger clowns in corsas ect, way to much to loose & my job needs a licence. To be honest I am not ready for a house yet, don't want to leave home just yet haha. I suppose I will never know until I try, I could save for a house & then in a few years think "wish I got the audi" lol

You can have an audi and change your mind within a year, it's a little more difficult with a house lol

Yet another reason why I wouldn't get a house yet, if I was sick if the car or costing to much I should sell the cat pay off what I owe & not have any debt :)

Try Adrian Flux for a quote, I'm currently with Sky insurance but they were 50% higher than the Flux quote like for like. Disappointing really as been with them a few years and have 2 cars with them.

Collecting my new avant next month so will most likely be taking the jump over to Adrian Flux with both my cars
