Tyres?
Re: Tyres?
I just put a set of 255 Goodyear Eage F1 Assymentrics on mine and they are superb, plenty of rim protection too. Minimal road noise which is a pleasant surprise.
Michelin SuperSports are meant to be awesome too, but they were another £50 per tyre!

Re: Tyres?
I've got four Goodyear Eagle F1 MOs on my Avant - 275/30 - car has Super Sport suspension.
They are (to me) fantastic. Make sure you declare the chnage in size to your insurer though.
Try Event Tyres - they come to you, and are very very well priced. I've used them for three BMWs, a 911 and an R32 before the RS.

Re: Tyres?
+1. In my opinion, they are currently the best tyres available. I use 255s though. I don't see any advantage to stepping up to 275 and it makes your tyre either too high or too low (depending on whether you go for 30 or 35 profile) by 13 or 14mm! That's about 2% out!Silas wrote:+1 they really are a fantastic tyreI've got four Goodyear Eagle F1 MOs on my Avant - 275/30 - car has Super Sport Suspension.

Re: Tyres?
Yeah I know - the 275s were on the car when I bought it from Audi (and all four are brand new) - I'll probably go back to 255s when they need replacing.
They do look nice though!

Re: Tyres?
i have two pilot supersports sat in the garage and two more getting delivered this week, i bought in batches of two because of the £50 fuel card promotion.
i was going to go with the goodyear asymmetric 2 as i have already had a set of asymmetric 1 on my rs4 and they were a very good tyre and by the reports on here the asymmetric 2 are even better.
however with £100 worth of free fuel on offer from michelin i thought id try the supersports.

Re: Tyres?
i also am running sport contact 3 on mine and dont rate them that highly i have just purchased GY F1 assy 2's which i had on my 3.0 tdi a4(which also had conti 3's on before) The 3.0 tdi was nose heavy but the GY were great. i really liked them , very good in the dry and excellent in the wet , do wear more than the conti's but they are hard as hell , GY were noticably quieter also, i did consider the mich super sports and dunlop sport maxx but decided on thr GY from past experience .

Phantom black saloon ,PES M112 Supercharged 520ps/595nm K&N filter, 100 cell milltek cats, res valved milltek system. 8 and 10mm H&R spacers.H&R roll bars, "smoke chrome " alloy refurb. JHM Quickshifter, Bilstein B16 coilovers , uprated diff mount ,50/50 devils own WM kit so 1.4 litres/min in intake approx 10% more power and torque

I have the Sportmaxx GTs on now (I know, but they came with the wheels) and they are pants compared the the Eagle F1s.rwilsonrs4 wrote: i did consider the mich super sports and dunlop sport maxx but decided on thr GY from past experience .
Re: Tyres?
I've got vredesteins and am very impressed. Much better than the P-Zeros that were on there before (although they did only have 3.5mm on them) so maybe not a fair comparison.

Re: Tyres?
I think it's a fair comparison - my RS4 came factory fitted with the P-Zeros and they must be the worst tyre I have ever had on any car (and I've owned cars for just short of 40 years) - no grip in the wet, no confidence in the dry, short life.joesnow wrote:I've got vredesteins and am very impressed. The Vreds are certainly not as good as the PS2s or F1s (they have a tendency to squirm and float IMHO), but they are quite a bit less expensive.
