Mine is completely as Audi intended it but with a new engine should be hitting their claimed 420 hp. What's yours had done to it?
Unfortunately if and when a new engine is fitted it will be going up for sale and hopefully sold before its even run in.

Don't sell because of what's happened you've been unlucky, it's a lot of car for the money IMO

I was about to put it up for sale before it went bang as lost my job couple of months back and just can't afford it at the moment. Will be gutted to see it go but will look into getting another one in the future once I'm back in work.

I may be interested if you sell. I'm also in West Sussex which is handy.

Not what I've heard. Tons of revisions to almost all of the exciting parts of the new engine.

RS4 Martin, I will say this

You had an engine failure that wasn't an over rev (your fault if it was) or something that caused a warning or cel that you ignored and continued (also your fault if it was)

The only other way this could have happened that was your fault is if you put the wrong fuel in the engine and fried a piston. You'd need to have gone to Poland and filled up with 80 octane to do that so spectacularly. I reckon they checked your fuel history right away when investigating to see what kind of lean condition corrections there were recently.

So, if you weren't in Poland recently, and can remember that your last tank of fuel was a good one (they will likely ask about that if they haven't already) you will be fine and will get a shiny new b7 rs4 engine. Unless your warranty can give you a reman or a used engine , which they will to save a few bucks.

Sleep well and it will all be fine on Monday...and if not I will be absolutely shocked. Or you were in Poland.

Ill keep you posted ensignia. And sakimano, I haven't been to Poland for at least 31 years so I'm sure the fuel I've been using is safe, unless of course our supermarkets have been selling under 95 octane fuel? No warning lights or any kind of telltale lights prior to the engine going pop so I'm assuming with a little bit of hope that it was an internal failure.

Hi stu,
No news from them today. I phoned them about 5 this afternoon and the tech that's been dealing with it was off sick so I ended up speaking to another lady (who was a bit shirty with me) who deals with warranties and she said they haven't heard from them today and it might take a bit of time due to the expense. That was after I was told on Friday I should have an answer today. Really starting to lose my patience and will to live now as it all seems to be taking too long.
