Coventry, I was listening to Tupac but when I lifted my phone up to take the photo it unplugged from the USB charger and the system automatically reverted to Heart lol. I saw a silver R8 V8 in the snow today, looked really good.

Well I gave up my RS 3 quattro today
I did the honourable thing and gave it to a colleague who has a 1yr old and a 6yr old and lives fairly remotely and her husband has a broken leg

I've got her FWD A5 Sportback 2.0TDI Auto in exchange

Its not too bad in the snow tbh! TC does a good job!

Yeah let's say that, you were listening to Tupac and some hardcora gangsta sh*t, not Pat and Mick's 1989 top ten hit 'I haven't stopped dancing yet'.

Tyre choice is the key on all cars.

Do not make the mistake and think because you have AWD you are safe, If you are running summer tyres be very careful your'e not as safe as you think as anyone who had aquaplaned (like me) in an RS will tell you.

My partner as work was wondering why his range rover with massive BLING 22 inch rims was sliding all over the place :D
I'm in an A6 2008 Avant 170 tdi for the moment and we've only had a sprinkling of snow - this thing is struggling already - its seems really light up front, so even on a damp surface it spins the wheels :bigblink:

They other problem is hardly anyone in the UK knows how to drive in the snow - hence utter mayhem and total chaos when we get as little as 1cm of the white stuff - in counties where they get regular snow and poor conditions they swap to winter tyres
But in the UK being stubbern types we think we know best and run with summer tyres all year round :biggrin2:

I've list below a few links to video's which may change your preception of winter tyres - is it worth the extra cost ?? I think so

BMW with rear wheel drive lots of power deep snow - with winter tyres - and this is in a county where they have proper snow.
Use the correct tyres and keep safe

Funniest thing I saw today, when outside having a snowball fight with me neighbours.... two separate women driving their massive 4x4's up our road at about 2mph. Morons

... Dave, where's the picture from Southampton this morning?

Mate, I'd rather they were driving at 2mph than ploughing into a load of cars at the end of the road when they suddenly realise their 4wheel drive doesn't help them stop any quicker.

I'm 100% with you there, Mike. The number of RR Sports I've seen go shooting past traffic/stuck cars at 60+ is amazing (in snow/icy conditions). Winter tyres will help you stop, but they won't guarantee it. And 4x4s are usually heavier so take more to slow down anyway. Ignorance is rife when the snow shows up.

I remember a guy in a 911 C4S going past me in my mum's Focus a few years back when a blizzard hit Stonehaven. We were heading back to Aberdeen on the A90, but I wasn't going above 30-35. He slithers past at about 65 like he needs to be somewhere at 3pm on a Saturday, but before I'd reached Portlethen I passed him because he lost when trying to change lane to avoid cars joining the road and went onto the grass. I get the feeling he was stood there confused by why his 4wd and 11" rear tyres hadn't worked on snow covered ice. Idiots will be idiots, snow just makes them more conspicuous.
