Combination valves seized

Post by Bobfin » Wed Jan 09, 2013 9:35 pm

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has heard of or had similar issue with RS4 B7. I had the car in for a diagnostic check, engine management was illuminate, so thought it best to get it checked. Turned out that problem was with faulty clutch switch, that was fine but engineer also noted that the o/s and n/s combination valves have seized, haven't noticed any problems with the car and enquired about this issue, was told that these valves mix the air intake and there is too much air being drawn in, is this a common fault and has anyone any idea what is involved in getting this resolved, was quoted £703.00.

Many thanks

Isn't this more routinely known as secondary air injection?
