I had a play tonight: 5°C, altitude 60m, quarter tank, me+bags=100kg.
aprox 55,000 miles, never cleaned, all OEM except for K&N air filter.

I got a lot of 8.4's in both directions.

There were one or two lower ones which I threw out as probable slight downhills and operator error.

There were a few higher ones (8.8 ) when the oil temp was very high - they felt different without even looking at the times. I managed to get the oil to 105 at one point then was sitting at a roundabout so I'm guessing heat sink was playing a part. All was fine again when the temp went back down to the 90's.

Okay did mine again a few nights ago as well, did the test 4 times and took the average which was 10.2 seconds, 95 Ron fuel, 1531m above sea level or 5022ft (17-20% loss in power) 1/2 tank of fuel, 22 degrees Celcius and oil at 100-105 Degress and only myself in the car... Car has not be cleaned
Because of the altitude the Rs4 does suffer quiet a bit, but it seems around par if you take off the 17% loss...

those times are what I would expect from a car down 20% (80 HP or so) as has been reported from carbon deposits
if the car is running mid 8's at less thn 1000" ASL I would venture it's making ~ rated power

yeah it does I have run it at sea level last year and it did around 8.5 sec, Altitude is a bigger killer of N/A cars in JHB SA, sometimes I wish i lived at the coast when when BMW 335's run with me in JHB :-(

I will have to do this with my phone making an HD vid of the speedo/odo/OBC

My car, in cold conditions (in Canada, we get plenty of density altitude below zero days from here till march) can generally rip off a low 8 second time with maybe half a tank of gas and no excess cargo in the car. My car weighs 1790 KG/3940 lbs when it has a full tank of fuel (for perspective for the Euro guys with lighter cars).

Did a few runs today - outside temp was ~10.0, oil temp started at 96, half a tank of V-Power, altitude around 30m, I'm 90kg, Sport button on (does that make a difference?).

I did 2 runs from 2500rpm and started the timer at 3k, then did 2 runs from 3k with pedal and timer pressed at the same time. Times were 8.4, 8.3, 8.4, 8.6 (oil temp up to 102 by then). I'd say that's pretty good for a 41k mile car that's never been de-coked. I was worried I'd be seeing 9s and have to cry all the way home.

I did manage to knock 30 miles off the range doing the runs though, which covered about 5 miles total.

hi RS4 guys
did this very interesting test in France this morning
my rs4 is full stock, temperature 12°C, alone in my RS4, 1/3 tank of 95 ron fuel (i know i shouldn't)
average time is 7,7 which seems to be a good result for my 2006 rs4 with 72000 KM
thanks for this nice forum

good time
looks like accurate timing too, definitely 8 sec or so
the temp and low fuel helped a bit, but at least as good as a new car when they were tested

every had the valves cleaned?
what elevation above sea level?

it was not a road, but a private track, strictly horizontal

the test is impossible on open roads, but easy on a private track

I think I will film my run then watch it back and that way I can then work an exact time by reviewing my film in slow motion and looking at time on timer as you hit dead on the 3,000 and 8,000 points then working the exact time,
