What a sickener mate. Take it from me, at least you didn't come face to face with them which is a bit of a blessing.

klauster wrote:They broke in while we were out having dinner, snapped the lock on the back door, then hunted high and low for the keys, took some cash, my passport...? they got both sets of keys and an iphone and jewellery... although there maybe more... also took a laptop but decided to leave it in the garden... car was a stunning high mileage example, i had just invested nearly 2k for a new clutch... plus new RNSE and bluetooth as I had decided it was a keeper... other than being very sad, the wife and I are ok thankfully...

It did have a tracker fitted but currently it would seem its either underground or in bits as there is no GPS signal showing on the car... it could well be heading abroad, or being hidden for the time being who knows :( I have to say i'm gutted, this is not how I had planned to say goodbye to my RS4.

My advice to you all is invest in snap proof locks, get some dead locking or all your doors.

Thanks for everyone's comments of support
Sorry to hear about the loss- Ive had a similar encounter with the robbers of my old mitsubishi Evolution so i know how it feels sat in you're own home knowing someone has intruded its not a nice feeling.

As mentioned - These are the best snap proof locks on the market. I worked for the huge company doing there IT networks and believe me they are good.. I watched locksmiths testing along with Police and fire services once doing there testing too - They Dead lock on damage , Pick proof, Bump proof, Snap proof you name it. The locks have pins inside pins , The Keys have magnets for certain pins inside the locks. I have them installed on my house. watch all the videos...

You can also get cylinder guards which fit around your existing eurolock for £7.50 stop the snapping, not so much the bumping :(
