That white one looks a nightmare! The wrap's beginning to peel (and it was a cheep one in the first place as the door shuts etc. weren't done, just the exterior surfaces).

I was initially going to agree with you, then I saw the prices. Joesnow gave two examples right at the bottom of the barrel in terms of sale price.

There's 90-odd for sale on pee heads today and 11 on Audi Approved Used. Can't all be bad??

I'm from Birmingham and sold my RS not long ago which was totally straight, warranted (Audi warranty) and had not a single fault and sold to the first viewer. It all depends on what kind of owner the car has and their motivation/attitude/approach.

However, I do agree with the above. I've been looking at cars for my wife for weeks and Birmingham tends to attract all manor of dodgy vehicles. I went to see one car and the exhaust fell off, literally dropped off when the guy moved it from his "indoor heated showroom" (which if I was blind would have worked but I'm not so could tell it was a rented industrial unit with nothing more than a desk and chair). In the end we bought from a main dealer, paid a premium but didn't have to worry about anything.

If anyones looking at an RS in Birmingham, PM me and I'll happily go give it a sanity check before you travel any distance :thumb:

Forum cars don't count in my 'wouldn't buy from Birmingham/Leeds/Bradford' rule, Sanj.

Personally, I'd be wary of buying at the wrong end of the RS4 market, and a rebuilt insurance write off... well it's not for me under any circumstances or any price point.

Call me old-fashioned, but it is worth paying a premium to buy the right car & that car does not necessarily come from an official Audi dealer.

Very true Amar.

My car sold for £17350. Now I don't know what people think but yes it was bottom of the barrel price back then...but if you look at my for sale ad you will see that the car was deinfetly worth alot more but as it goes, I'm not greedy and sold it for a reasonable price compared to what I purchased it for from a main dealer. I actually sold it to a RS4 specialist garage (carry out servicing etc... on them but asked not to advertise whom).

There is some genuine sellers out there but they are definetly few and far between. I saw a 330ci for the wife a couple of weeks ago, all looked good until I opened the service history. Every stamp was identical, date and signature done with the same pen and the dead give away was when I checked the sellers feedback on eBay...he had purchased a servicebook a few weeks earlier.

Offer stands team, anything in Birmingham, PM me and I'll give them a grilling for you :D

It's not worth it. There's a certain behavioural culture in Birmingham which makes purchases like this a risk.

It's safer to steer clear.

I may well take you up on the offer cause the search still continues.

Don't get me wrong I didn't go looking at these cars expecting them to be in the same league as the £20k+, although I'm sure there's a few lemons in that price range as well, but hopefully anyone looking at them adverts may read this and save their time and money.

my car would be bottom end of the price bracket due to the mileage, but its seriously mint and has been well looked after.... even with nearly 90k on it, I'm confident its in better condition then cars with less than half the miles!

Hi all

I live in Birmingham an have owned a mrc'd b5 rs4 and mrc'd by b7.
Both cars started off as standard and had a lot of money spent on them.

I wouldn't even sells the cars in Birmingham . Anyone who sounded weird . I would just say they were sold .

Please watch out, there are some good examples but I'm afraid alot
More worse .

If anyone wants to know anything about a dealer or a car in brum give us pm and I'll be able to advise .

I find the whole Birmingham thing quite amusing - is it really that bad?? I feel we've just slagged off about a million people on this thread

^ If you want an easier time of it, look elsewhere. That's not to say its impossible to find a good'un in Birm, it's just extremely difficult.
