Miltek?
Re: Miltek?
Yep it loud
But some people prefer it, and I must say it does sound fantastic however it was a bit loo loud for me.
I swapped my non-res section over to resonated, got the non-res section in for sale section (it was only on the car 3 weeks)

Ahh ok, might sound sill does the cats come with the exhaust, or are they optional? As mine has a receipt for 2x high flow cats?

They come separate.
IIRC the cats are around £1200
And the cat back system is anywhere from £800 to £1700 depending on what system it is. The valved system is more expensive.
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

Re: Miltek?
I have the NON resonated cat back Milltek on mine. I find It's loud when you are low rev and low speed but I LOVE IT! Its sounds so good! Once your out the town and hit 50mph the noise level dies away then you will only hear it when you are dropping it a couple of cogs (When you want to hear it)

Re: Miltek?
Non res, no flaps here, I don't think it's loud at all, but then I used to drive a decatted Impreza with a 4.5" exhaust... I still get "we heard you coming a mile away" when I turn up at places

Re: Miltek?
Non res, valved with 100 cell cats for me.
Some say its too loud but for me its fine as its a toy not a daily driver.

Re: Miltek?
Having the same dilemma just now although not because I don't want a LOUD miltek but because the police over here can be hit or miss when it comes to loud exhausts and the equivalent of an MOT can be a hassle too.
Is there much difference between a non-res valved when the valves are open versus closed? i.e. significant enough to maybe help when passing by the boys in green (not blue here) or at testing time?

Re: Miltek?
I got pulled by the fuzz when I passed them in 6th gear with the valves open. When they asked me to start the car I had the valves closed so it wasn't a problem - the traffic police in north Wales are quite young, when my dad was a police officer - he was traffic and crewed with the same guy for 20 years. They were traffic officers until they were both 57 yrs old. That doesn't happen anymore so you do get some over zealous 'youngsters' asking questions about exhausts. these 'young police officers' don't seem to appreciate 'big cars' which is a shame. The non-res milltek with valves closed sounds like the stock exhaust with valves open. The non-res milltek with valves open is ok (not mental), it's liveable with and is the best mod you can make to the RS4 for the money - it's boomey around 2000 rpm but you learn to drive around it. I hope this helps. The valves only open above 3500 in 3rd - all the time if selected in 4th, 5th and 6th and at idle in 1st (I think they close above 1200 rpm in first.) Sometimes I have to check whether I've selected 'Sport' mode in 6th as the difference is not immediately discernible unless you rag it.

Re: Miltek?
sport mode
in first second third and neutral the valves are open from 0-1000 , then they close from 1000 to 3500ish, then they open again from about 3500 and stay open to redline. In forth fifth and sixth they are always open.
non sport mode
they are always closed all the time.

Re: Miltek?
here is mine on a track day with a gopro mounted right above the exhaust.
Catback non-res, non-valved
I dont think its too noisy at all.
Others advise it has a nice bark, but not obtrusive.
It also depends how hard you choose to press the loud-pedal

(mine starts at around 8m30s)
