RS4 B7 Brake Discs / pads

Post by westernisles » Thu Aug 09, 2012 9:28 am

Any advice on where is best to source replacement discs would be greatly appreciated. The ones I have are not in bad condition but considering replacement to be 100% spot on.

if they are ok mate, just leave them its about 1k to replace all round, you can sometimes get them on e bay cheaper or you could use VW Phaeton ones whch are cheaper still.

the advert for the car you bought said they were in good nick did they not???

Hi. Are Phaeton discs direct swaps? What's the real-world difference?

Hi, the next time my disks need replacing I would probably go for the LOBA alternative, they are competitively priced, notably lighter than standard too http://www.loba-motorsport.com/en/produ ... sc-upgrade

Fitted phaeton discs a few months back, havent noticed any difference at all.
you need to swap the centre bells over from the originals
£380 a pair,no brainer for me personaly.

Are the Phaeton discs drilled though? I didn't think they were and that is enough to put me (even from just an aesthetic point of view).
I got mine from the Audi dealer used in the group buy. Price was higher than the group buy but still reasonable. Can't remember which dealer it was right now!

It was probably Stoke Audi !

But as others have said, I'd probably got for the Lobas

Yes, you're right, it was Stoke Audi

http://www.stokeaudi-parts.co.uk/produc ... R-PRICE%29

£516 for front pair, £444 for the rear

Those LOBA discs certainly look nice but they are over twice the price of standard discs.

Looks like you have 3 options, just depends on whether you want to spend £380, £516 or £1250.

Edit; just realied they are 1250 Euros not pounds!

Thanks guys for all the info. To be honest the discs are not worth changing, the small lip on them has been turned down and they look almost like new so for now no need to change, just being a bit pickey.
