GTR would be my next car, running costs prevent it right now.

They are not that much different to the RS4 pal , fuel about the same, tyres a bit dearer, problem is the mods , its so easy and the returns are huge for the cost of them.

Hmmm, that's the problem - I think I would turn it into Godzilla and would have to sell the wife to pay for it!

Take a test drive!
I personally was impressed with it, not sure why people think its a bad car, since it has all if the 'RS' kit on it i.e. oval pipes blistered 'Gene Hunt' wheelarches, flared grills etc, it has more bhp then the 4, the same torque but from lower revs, is lighter, understeers less and as long as you set your DRC to Comfort for the steering the feedback is far from bad... Just take a look at DK's write up..... :beerchug:

But it doesn't have all those things:
- the wheelarches are wimpy little things.
- lighter? I very much doubt it, it's a big old barge.
- handling? Just about everything written about it says that it is boring and uninvolving.

It's an "old school" Audi - lardy, pretentious and with the handling of a school jelly.

Yeah.....

Old school audi? Yeah with a 7 speed Dsg box, rear torque biasing rear diff, the engine on/behind the front axle, new centre crown gear which can send up to 85% of the power to the back wheels like and R8? Handles like school jelly, is that why Chris Harris' review he said it had 'an accomplished chassis', and can get the rear end to play under power Lardy? its a 2door coupe not a bloody Range rover, and it is lighter than an RS4 :bigwave:

And all those factors are obviously why it has been a huge sales success and all RS4 customers have traded up to one.......

You've made the classic mistake of confusing technology with being better.

None of those actually make the RS5 better to drive, as the often scathing comments about the long-term RS5 that Evo ran ably demonstrate - they found it so uninvolving to drive they often left it in their car park and chose to drive "lesser" cars. That's where the B7 RS4 gets it so right - it is "fun" to drive.

Granted not the best selling car in the world, however I doubt that the release of the RS5 during the Recession helped, again the RS3 is a good car but i think you'll find not many of those have been sold either...? :audibash:

I got the lighter from a spec list.....

I know that the RS5 has alot of tech and you feel I only like it because of that and because it has an 'RS' badge, but I don't think its the best car in the world like you may think i do, i don't like the steering much, or the ride even in comfort, but despite some of the bad press, watch autocars review i agree with what they say alomst to the letter..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kLoHgl_FS8

The initial UK allocation of 500RS3s have all been ordered/sold, and Audi UK have secured a further allocation of 400 - so it's not doing bad, especially considering the next A3 has already been shown publicly so people know they are ordering an "old model".
