if any body is in the nottingham/derby area will come and show it works.

Re: CARBON BUILD UP
My car's currently in Audi being stripped down and cleaned otherwise I'd be up for it. I'm sure someone on here will volunteer themselves up thoughgromit4x wrote:I would be willing to show someone how it works on there car for a very good discount just to prove that it works. I have been in the motor trade for over 20 years and yes there have been loads of stuff on the market that they say do this that but this is the first one that stands up and does it.

Re: CARBON BUILD UP
Ah well if its sprayed into the intake at high pressure then it should have an effect if its good at dissolving gunky stuff i would certainly be up for it , unfortunately Nottingham is way too far for me , be interesting to see any before and after shots of the valves , tho i reckon the manifold looks fairly tortuous so could be tricky to get a scope in there ,
My mate who owns a garage has a steerable one with a live view screen so when i,m next up there for more mapping we plan to have a look and see how mine are looking ,
i,ll look forward to see an results you can post up

Phantom black saloon ,PES M112 Supercharged 520ps/595nm K&N filter, 100 cell milltek cats, res valved milltek system. 8 and 10mm H&R spacers.H&R roll bars, "smoke chrome " alloy refurb. JHM Quickshifter, Bilstein B16 coilovers , uprated diff mount ,50/50 devils own WM kit so 1.4 litres/min in intake approx 10% more power and torque

Re: CARBON BUILD UP
Endoscope really hard to use on the rs4 manifold. If you open up the manifold it has trumpets mounted inside.
Re: CARBON BUILD UP
To me the perfect scientific test would be to take manifold off and inspect valves and other bits (with pictures).
Then perform treatment and re-inspect valves.

+1 I'd be up for it as long as a disclaimer was signed for any damage to the engine caused to be coveredadsgreen wrote:To me the perfect scientific test would be to take manifold off and inspect valves and other bits (with pictures).

Re: CARBON BUILD UP
Thing is - doesn't have to be a rs4 engine.
Any FSI would do and plenty cheaper test beds. Also need to confirm that the product would not harm aluminium.
Hell... Even a video showing the product sprayed on under pressure on carbon build up would be a start.
The problem with before and after pictures is you don't know what happened in the middle.
Engines pretty strong though - iirc Audi in the us used walnut shells to clean carbon?

I applaud you for this. Hopefully someone will be willing to give it a go. Like others have said it would be ideal if you could do a before and after shot of an RS4 inlet track and or video the process. I appreciate that this would cost you time and money to undertake as you would have to remove the manifold first etc but as others have said if this works as well as you say you will have many many happy clients and probably a queue of them waiting to use you.
If it does work and it is well priced I know that I for one would probably consider doing it once a year just to keep the engine in A1 condition.
Further to this the comment was made about it affecting aluminium, do you have any details on the corrosiveness of the product? Most of us on here are very protective of our cars and are very much risk adverse until something has been well proven, its the nature of a owning a high performance and expensive to fix car!
Please don't be put off by our scepticism but there have been a lot of pretenders in this carbon cleaning area so if you demonstrate that it is safe and works you WILL get a lot of business from this website alone.
Good luck!

Re: CARBON BUILD UP
I've been thinking...
How can it work even under high pressure?
(well in the rs4 anyway).
The intake from the airfilter feeds into the central part of the intake manifold.
This 'box' is designed to slow down and stabilise air before entering the cylinders.
The cylinders are fed from trumpets that are angled through near 180 degrees.
I mean the cylinder heads are at 45 degrees from the vertical so this means the intake ports are effectively vertical. So the trumpet path goes from vertical round through about 160 degrees and down into intake manifold airbox. So in effect the trumpets are face down suspended over the airbox. Doesn't matter if it's high pressure or not - any cleaning agent will collect in the airbox unless it's a very fine spray.
My idea ages back was to exchange the core plugs used to access the intake runner flaps with some sealable connection or valve. For example say you thread tapped the core plug hole and fitted a suitable plug with a screw cap seal. You'd only need to do one for each cylinder and maybe on the other core plug fit an access port for endoscope use.
You could then periodically use an agent like wynns directly on the problem area.
If anybody has or knows of a spare intake manifold (ideally a duff or broken one still with carbon) then I'd be interested.

Re: CARBON BUILD UP
Thankyou for all your comments I wil try and get a video done over the weekend and post YouTube of the prosses but car that i'll use will possibly not be an audi as can't find an rs4 in my area but will find somthing that i can get my cam in before and after. Also when the spray is put in it is a very fine spray that will go with the air flow so getting to all parts inside the inlet manifold. It will not harm aluminium.

Re: CARBON BUILD UP
Maybe it didn't work and there's an RS4 somewhere with a dissolved lump of aluminium under the bonnet. But hey, no carbon!

06 Phantom Black Saloon:
DONE: Water Meth Injection, Carbon clean at 64k, CAI, Gutted Precats, Non-res x-pipe, H&R 8mm spacers, H&R springs
