Cheers for all the comments guys about the car, its great to have such a nice response when first posting on the forum. I must say i cant wait to pick the car up and aim to take some nice photos of it over the jubilee weekend and post them up when i finally get her home after the long trip to Boss.

Thank you also for the comments with regards to the exhaust, i would like an exhaust however i don't want the cabin drone, however i do want it loud outside just not in on the motorway runs. Prior to this i had a new shape Focus RS and i had a Milltek on that which was great on the motorways but sounded lovely when you opened it up, believe that was resonated and would be looking for similar for the RS4

Don't get me wrong , the Miltek sounds awesome and i don't regret getting it as it certainly turns heads , the cabin resonance is ONLY at 1800 -1900 ish rpm , it is quiet in the cabin at all other times at any road speeds and rpm other than stated and as i said you can drive around it by either running a gear higher or lower depending on your speed and tbh its only in town that i have this issue as its low down the rpm range , but thats just my personal opinion with mine
Phantom black saloon ,PES M112 Supercharged 520ps/595nm K&N filter, 100 cell milltek cats, res valved milltek system. 8 and 10mm H&R spacers.H&R roll bars, "smoke chrome " alloy refurb. JHM Quickshifter, Bilstein B16 coilovers , uprated diff mount ,50/50 devils own WM kit so 1.4 litres/min in intake approx 10% more power and torque
1/4 mile 12.01 secs 123.5mph

Many thanks for the detailed reply with regards to this, sounds a little like the one on my RS was, would you say the valved option was worth it? As i noticed it quite a bit more expensive and seems to me something else to go wrong. Having never driven an RS4 what RPM would you say would be motorway cursing around the 75-80mph mark?

Well done on the mugello blue / optic combo - about 18 months ago I very nearly bought an avant with the setup. Beautiful combination. I ended going for a local car in daytona that ticked 99% of the boxes for me. FON :D

The valved option is way more expensive as you have seen ,the valves are open in S mode at idle and then between 1000 and 4000 rpm they are closed in gear 1,2 and 3 and then open again above 4k ( some crap about drive by noise legslation )but open at all times when in 4,5 and 6 when in S mode
an option may be to go for a second hand one , they come up regularly on here and ebay when ppl move the cars on as dealers won't give more money in a trade in and some people don't want them, the whole original exhaust comes off behind the cats in one piece so is easy to remove and refit if needed (transporting or storing it may be tricky but some places will keep your exhaust for you while the milly is on the car ), the valves don't really give trouble , at worst they may stick after a long time , but some lube sorts them out. As I said I had the valves disconnected a while which would be the same as none fitted obviously ,and it was much louder and more intrusive inside , and I have the resonated centre section on mine .
basically its 25mph per 1000 rpm in 6th gear so quite low geared for such big engine. Cruising on the motorway your at about 3000/ 3300 depending on your mood :-) so well above the drone , its not an issue then at all

Cheers for the great reply, and that is alot lower geared than i expected. I did notice a few millteks up for sale in the classified areas and i must say it is on top of the list of things to get for the car. Cheers for all the help with regards to it, have to see if there are some local RS4 owners who have an exhaust similar to what i am after so i can have a listen before hand.

Hi, that is a great looking car that you will be picking up. I am also in Maidstone and have recently bought a 56 plate Daytona Grey Avant, so may well see you about :beerchug:

Mine's completely standard and I would be interested to see/hear what yours is like with the Milly if you go for it. Was yours the white Focus RS I used to see around the town?

Was a nice car i just missed 4WD having had a high power Evo before it.
