So has anyone actually had any dodgy customers? I might bring my mate along with me instead, or, install the ejector seat app!

I had a kid show up at around 11pm Saturday night, with cash, to buy my old stage 2 1.8T Golf GTI. He was a young lad, and I was pretty pissed by this time, so he never got a test drive, or even driven in the car.

I said to him he would have to wait for the number plate transfer, but he was having none of it. He came to view it, as soon as the garage door opened, his jaw dropped, handed over the cash, and 30 mins later, he was hooning about the countryside in it. Obviously couldn't even give him the V5 because I needed that for the number plate transfer. He just handed over the cash and away he went.

Met him a week later to give him his relevant docs, and he was over the moon. Couldn;t wait to tell me of all his mates cars he'd thrashed that week, lol.

Saw it knocking about for a few months after, but not seen it for a while now. I wonder if its still alive.

I am currently looking at M3s for sale and it reminded me, I bought a BMW a few months back, one owner from new, a real posh bloke with a huge house, two horses and a massive swimming pool in his garden. He took me out for a drive and I agreed to buy it, picked it up a few days later and it drove like a pile of crap, pulled into the nearest petrol station in the hope it were just the tyre pressures, but unfortunately not, I had to hold the steering wheel wonky to make it go straight, pissed off I took it to a BMW garage and ended up having to spend £1.5k getting the suspension right, which was all fecked. I promised myself 'lesson learnt, I'll never buy a car without test driving it again'. With my RS6 I didn't mind as it was a forum member, but a random private sale I dunno now, maybe if it were real cheap. But the guy I bought the BMW from was like a clone of Prince Charles. I've also bought a BMW from a dogy looking bloke in Brum, from a council estate and that was perfect. Go figure.

Lol this reminded me of the most bizarre sale I once had. I sold an old E36 M3 convertible in Techno Violet, black roof to a rather dodgy sounding geezer from the Isle of White quite a few years back now. He didnt test or even view the car just rang me and agreed the sale price and said " Be on the dock at 12pm!" I arrived, looking as hard as I could do in my work suit and cromby! :smile_smoking: with 4 additional rims wedged in the front and back seats and he turned up with 20k all in 10 pound notes in a plastic bag! We then proceeded to count the cash on the bonnet ( couldnt get in the car as it was full of spare wheels) I have to say that Ive seen and worked with some hard cases in my time but this guy made Raymondo look like a shirt lifter. Anyway he never even looked over the car but just got in and buggered off to the ferry I assume! I then walked as calm as it was possible with my Tescos bag full of 20k in cash to my bank where I got the most interesting looks and 3rd degree you can ever have!! 2 weeks later I had the rozzers paying me a visit and ringing me up asking all sorts of questions about the car and who I had sold it to! I found out he was a well known convicted nut case and crim with a decent stretch already behind him and under survelance as a international class A drug dealer! :sekret: I can only assume they had me under watch as well for those two weeks! I'm just glad the car was in good nick but come to think of it those notes sure did smell funny!! :)

Haha, I had someone buy a Beemer from me with £20k cash in a Tesco carrier bag too. They owned a restaurant apparently so just took it out the safe.

Haha nope I just crave the handling, the only way I'll get an Audi that handles like a Beemer or better is if I buy a B7 RS4 or an R8. I can't afford an R8 yet and chose the C5 over the B7 for its POWERRRR. 8)
