Audi Ipod Dock

Hi All,
I am wanting to install the Audi Ipod dock in exchange for my current CD player (RS4 B7)

Will the Dock accept my Iphone 4 or ipod touch ?

if anyone could shed any light please let me know

It sounds like a straight swap with the factory CD for the Ipod unit would be the way to go but the factory ipod is what's technically known as a bit pants

Much better to put the Alpine KCE-425i in for the functionality you would expect, and that the factory kit is nowhere near.

I've looked in to that, Alpine don't make it anymore, plus I've been told it will not work with iPhone

Whoever told you that was very wrong, it workes with both iPod and iPhone.

It was an Alpine rep actually? It may be I have got the wrong end of the stick and it won't charge the iPhone?

Either way my local ICE place wouldn't fit one

I thought it looked good as well. I'm using SD cards now.

Purchased our RS4 3 weeks ago, had tv, satnav, cd bose etc, no bluetooth or way of using iPod or iPhone. The company i've used for the past 20 years (12 volt / Andy) looked into it for me, as well as me checking forums and sites. To have it working properly with the audi kit, you need two adaptor / boxes, one from alpine and cannot remember other at present. Both were US based and it looked as if they were quite rare as people were asking after anyone selling them.

So, instead, we opted for a parrot MKi9200, plugs into Bose and Audi unit, loses cd connection. Now the car is fully bluetooth and voice controlled, plays charges iPod / iPhone with increased sound performance over the bose (noticeably better), would thoroughly recommend. Unit i think retails for £180, i had it installed with an old road angel kit, cost me £270 exvat installed.
