I swapped the other way, is dead easy - literally a 30 second job. I think you don't even need keys to remove the iPod dock either. Once is pulled out is just one multi-plug to disconnect, reconnect & push the CD Changer into the dash. You will need keys if want to remove the CDC again for sure.

It doesn't need recoding, but will register an error as the iPod dock is actually for later cars (I know it was in the brochure at one point) so it is seen as no-communication or similar.

Not in the GB, I think there is a Dension system that allows them both to work or you can hook up an aux in connection to the RNS-E & use that as an additional input source but that won't charge the iPod although can use anything then.

Kufatec sell a kit or you can buy the plugs from Audi & make it up you will need VCDS to code the RNS-E to accept the new input though & think is the TV connector so may interfere with some future upgrade plans.

Edit - here is a link to the Kufatec product - http://www.kufatec.de/shop/product_info ... RNS-E.html

No problem - have added link to Kufatec & DIY options for you. Looking at the DIY link you can probably pin it into the TV adapter so probably not such a problem. I bought the Kufatec kit when ordering some other stuff from them.

Audi also make an iPod adapter that replaces the CDC which charges the iPod & gives some control from the HU but it seems to be universally hated. Ex had a VW & quite liked it so is probably not the best solution but compared to an iTrip is good !

I bought mine on eBay, got lucky & only paid 20 for it but they don't seem to go for an awful lot anyway, as isn't much to them so seem to be much cheaper than a CDC.
