M5 and M3 within minutes!

Post by wrekka » Sat Oct 15, 2011 9:00 pm

Was working late last night so decided to have a trip to the 24 hour garage for some vpower. Warmed the car up on the way there and filled up.

5 minutes after leavig the shell garage noticed something come shooing up behindme, couldn't tell properly what it was but it wanted a play! Put my foot down and wasn't losing him, until I came to a long sweeping left hander and then that was the difference lost him easily. Came to a junction and he pulled alongside for a nod- was a 2002 M5 - quick car probably nothing in it with the rs4 until we came to a bend - road was bone dry too!

Few minutes later e46 m3 comes nailing past, so at the next round-a-bout had a run- he set off first slowly for a rolling start and I was behind, he then booted it and so did I. I Quite comfortably past him in 2nd gear and then kept pulling away from him steadily, although did not wipe the floor with him. Another thumbs up from the guy and then I thought I better retire for the night before I got locked up!

I think my car performed well considering all the talk of low power and carbon etc. My car just has a milltek cat back valved. My only concern is that to make headway on these cars you really have to push the rs4!

I had a run in with a e92 m3 in a straight line and was chuffed when I had to ease off a little so as not to run into the back of them ;)

doesn't the air con drop out above a certain throttle position?
(does on other performance cars I've had including m3's)
