glad its being sorted out for you.
I had exactly the same problem as you, long hours in the middle of London and no chance to mess about dropping cars off and picking them up.
tried the garage i brought it off who flat out refused to allow it to be booked in on a Saturday morning to confirm the drc problem and get the ball rolling with warranty/parts etc - not exactly hard as they had oil all over them and that clonk clonk noise.

tried instead coulsdon Audi instead who had no issues with a quick look under to confirm the issue, the followed up with a nice convenient time to drop off early in the morning, then pick-up late one evening a few days later. even got a handy train station round the corner. i know where i'll be going for the next service.
Only problem was they wouldn't lend me their nice V10 R8 demonstrator as a courtesy car!

The only problem is that it's come back with the brake warning light on. I'm surprised that it happened in the, (what, three mile?) test drive, but why ever it happened, it's happened. New front pads and discs is £1,300, which is annoying at 18k miles (never been on track), especially as the pads are only 30% worn, but I've not got much choice, I suppose, but to pay it.

Are there any better pads and discs than original, does it make sense to have the lip skimmed off and to run the discs longer (it's the lip on the disc that is setting off the sensor), or is having it done, right now, wit OE parts the best choice?

Worth checking if the pads are actually OK (at 30% worn they should be) and maybe what's happened is that they've done something silly with the pad wear warning wires?

Chingford. It does seem very strange that out of all the mikes it;s done, it was during the 2-3 miles of their rooad test that they went over the limit.

I shold maybe have pressed them on the issue, but I didn't realise whiile in the dealersip that it was actually a dash warning light that was on, rather than them having measured something during the job.

I suppose that I could take it to another dealer for another look, but that's another Saturday gone iif I do, and at the moment I only have about one in four of them free.
