Bonnet / Grill gap advice

just out detailing the car an noticed there is a noticeable gap between the bonnet and grill. everything lines up perfectly though.
Looking around at high res pics on the net, some seem to have the same, worse or smaller gap than mine.
is this a simple case of adjustment? if so what is the best way to do it?

There are two torx/philps screws that adjust the bumper height located on the top of the bumper. In some cases the bumper might not have been put on correctly and is sitting off the screw lip that adjusts it. As steve said, search it, there's a lot of info on it and a good YouTube video clip on how the screw adjuster works.

If you do adjust the bumper it may put the headlights out of alinement's.

I did mine by following the guidance on the various threads on here and it wasn't too bad at all. A bit fiddly if you need to loosen all the fixings, but the end result looked so much better. And I'm completely mechanically inept. Took about an hour or so I reckon.

I am going to have to do this on mine, having read the various threads I am still a lil confused. What exactly do I need to loosen, remove to get access to the adjustment screw? I am hoping this is easy and doesnt involve removal?
Does anyone have some pics step by step of how to do this? Help much appreciated.

basically three big bolts on the top of the grill - you can't really miss them.
Loosen these.
You may have to loosen the two bolts in the front of the front wheel arches - again, pretty obvious if you look.
That should be enough.
Then it's acase of a long 30T screwdriver into the two adjustment holes.
It's a very odd design but essentially if you screw the bolt in (as in clockwise) the inner screw will go dowa into the mechanism and eventually "grab" the adjustment bolt from the inside.
This will make the top of the adjustment mech go down until it closes the gap between the bumper and the bottom adjuster.
Keep turning clockwise as the bottom adjustment bolt is reverse threaded so now the whole thing starts to go up.

the only issues to watch out for is that it's possible to put the bumper back with the lugs on the bumper missing the grab adjustment mech. If this happens then no amount of twiddling will make any difference so you have to pull the bumper off.
To be fair it's not a massive deal really but very useful to have an extra pair of hands around.

Hi Ads, thanks for this, just been out for a look and if I am not mistaken the top (threads sections) of both adjustment screws are missing, The bases are there and you can see the locating pins from the bumper body but they are attached to nothing. I know that Bolton audi had the bumper off last year but I can believe that they put it back on without these. The piece missing from mine is circled in the picture!!!!

thats gonna be an arse as I imagine you can only get complete adjustment parts to order and you'll need to take the bumper off to fit.

When I partially removed my bumper I found that some of the plastic on the stop screws has disintegrated, so I ordered a new pair. I can't find the receipt, but they weren't very expensive. The screw will come out completely from the top, so just replace old with new, or insert new as required. I managed to do it without taking the bumper off completely.

Decided to go back to Audi and called cust service uk, next day got call back saying that they would cover cost of bumper removal, refit of screws etc. 400 quid at Audi body Shop! Happy boy!

Can someone do me a favour and pop a picture up on here of what the bumper gap should be like, I'm pretty sure I need mine sorting and its going in for a service next month, just want a picture to show them how it should be
