Post by Jules » Mon Aug 15, 2011 9:02 am

Is it possible to turn off the tyre pressure sensors,i am about to change the alloys but want to keep the sensors
on my old wheels,or can new ones just be purchased.
If so how much are these ?

Thanks

I think but not 100% that the TPMS can be disabled using Vag Com.

New ones aint cheap - IIRC they are about 70-100 quid a corner.

I am pretty sure you can but you may need to check insurance fine print incase you ever have an accident due to flat/low pressure tyre. They may not take kindly to a standard piece of equipment being turned off.

Personnaly I am getting pretty close to putting my fist through the dash with the number of false warnings I get and how hopeless Audi are at fixing the problem....sorry

I did it on mine using Vagcom using the process below. It basically removes it from the DIS menu altogether.

17 - Instruments - Adaptation - Channel 61. Subtract 512 from whatever value you find and save.
