Virdee, do you think they look new or was that a typo?

I should make an amendment - Slough Audi said that there was enough metal there so they didn't need replacing, not that they were recent replacements.

The servicing dealer (Victoria Audi) has no record of front discs or pads ever having been replaced which isn't I guess proof that they haven't but they look pretty old to me.

I think it would be wise to judge the condition with the car physical during a proper inspection, rather than asking opinions whilst looking at mixed quality pictures ??

As you have suggested their may not be record of a disc change on the Audi dealer network, as they may have been purchased from an independent such as Virdee, myself or from your ebay shop...?

Is this just not a bit more dealer bashing Andrew?

From my experience with Audi Slough they are an absolute nightmare, I had similar issues with Pads and discs on a car I bought from them, they said they had checked the pads but when I checked them when I got home they where 90% worn, after many phone calls (any they do not phone you back) I eventually got them changed took them 5 days in the end.
In the end I got a local Audi delaer to check them and that seemed to do the trick.

Philip, are you suggesting then that it's a satisfactory state of affairs that an independent inspection is necessary for anyone buying an Approved Used Audi to ensure the selling dealer is conforming with the Approved Used charter?

I hoped that I'd be able to leave a good friend to go an buy a car with these safeguards in place and not have to worry about him getting stitched up but unfortunately he has asked for my advice and I feel a degree of responsibility and its frustrating that they appear to be trying to fob him off - if the car was booked in for a service do you honestly think they wouldn't condemn those discs even from what you can see in those images?

Incidentally I can not praise Halesowen Audi more highly based upon my experience of them, I have no hidden agenda, and as you can see from the subsequent posts, it's not just me is it?

In you original post you suggested the discs had recently been replaced, you have amended this to "they have not been recently replaced".

Now with this info. It may be easier to judge or pass comment on the condition?

Forget it Philip, as you say, a physical inspection is the only way to make sure a buyer isn't going to get some scrap discs via Audi Approved, silly me for even bothering. End of..
