Blimey, thats good going. Apart from £1-2k dealer margin, I don't appear to have lost much in my 9 months of ownership.

Good to hear, although I don't plan on selling mine unless petrol hits £2 per litre this year!

As most do,I keep an eye on prices,i dont plan to sell either but keeping an eye on it incase my new house project needs more cash,56 plate sprint blue, buckets (in top condition) FASH 34k adaptive headlights nav heated front/rear seats, fbsw, drl, coming home lights, factory bluetooth,3mm mark on 1 wheel, brakes tip top condition, factory tints with aftermarket light tint in the fronts.rain sensors auto wipers etc etc MRC 460 tuning including Full non res valved system,no cat dps, polished ported manifold, cold air induction, stage 2 remap, must of cost approx 5k etc etc were would you pitch it if i was to sell? Car is mint and origonal, ask 30k 31k? Its not going up for sale but something i may consider later on in my house project if it doesnt come in within budget, what do you think? Ive allowed a grand or two for the tuning on top of normal values (i think) opinions..? I know there will be cheaper but also plenty of crap this is mint

I haven't kept up to speed on values tbh, but I'd say £28-29k for your car, stock. The extras are definitely worth £2k to the right person but it seems most people would rather buy a stock car and mod it themselves (this forum excepted maybe).

Lengster - I joined here recently as I'm looking into purchasing an RS4 later in the year and want to go into ownership with me eyes wide open.

If your house project does force a sale in a few months, please drop me a line - it sounds very close to what I'm looking for.

Cheers,

Paull

just to give some perspective, i sold my 07/07 sprint Avant about 5 weeks ago, to a dealer.

35,000 miles, needed a service, warranty extension, and 4 tyres, as far as condition goes it was mint.

they paid me 26500 for it, and within a week it went on their forecourt for 32k and was sold within 48 hours.

way i figured was it needed 3k spend to make it a 30k private sale,so swings and roundabouts really, given it potentially would have needed brakes and clutch sometime in the next 12 months say.

as far as residuals go, they are absolutely rock solid. Cant see that changing really, as there isnt anything around that is comparable for the money.
I know this as i am still carless and struggling to find something to fill the void.

fuel costs may impact heavily as costs rise, but that goes for all cars, and if you dont do many miles, even at 2 quid a litre, i'd still heartilly recommend someone own one rather than not. You only live once.

do i regret selling it? actually yes i do, but i've had 2, and i stick by my reasons for getting out when i did.

who knows, i may even buy another, but it would be from another owner as opposed to a dealer...i really would need to know the ins and outs of the last owners maintenance and type of usage i think.

bloody good things when all said and done.

Spot on J...

I would definately agree with buying one from another owner as opposed to a dealer. It may be the easier route if you have a part-exchange, but to actually 'kind of know' the previous owner and the history of this particular car, is a valuable long term asset. There's just so much crap around...

With 80k miles I'm FCUK'ed on resale so I'm keeping mine, even if petrol goes beyond £2 per litre. I don't care as there is nothing out there that I want to change to and going to the Geneva motorshow just confirmed that.

I'll get a runaround like some have done by then and average the miles out over the years.

do saloons hold their value as well?
not sure If I bought mine for good value, but I've paid £24,700, 38500 miles, 06 plate, black, original owner from new, just serviced in October and FASH + multipoint checked by Audi Walton (coil pack changed), sunroof, DRL, technology pack, sat nav, black buckets (good condition) + FBSW, all 4 heated seats, wheels just refurbished, good to mint condition overall

tyres needed to be changed (doing it sat - £900) + I will have to spend £250 for the window regulator (burn in hell!!! ).
so all in all I will have paid 25,850 for the car in full working order.

what do you think? :blackrs4:

Judging by what I've been monitoring in the classifieds, I'd say you have yourself a bargain there :beerchug:
